"How Do Conservatives and Liberals See the World?"

I just finished watching this interview of social psychologist Jonathan Haidt by Bill Moyers, and I think some others here might find it interesting as well (Haidt has given a TED Talk on the subject as well). It's a discussion regarding the differing moral views underpinning the political divides in the USA and how they play out, as well as the differing blind spots those views cause each side. It's about an hour long, so it may be good to watch while training. Enjoy.

When I first read the title of this thread, I thought it was going to be about this: http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2012-01/uon-tbo010412.php, which has been making the rounds at a few other forums I frequent. I only watched about 20 minutes of the video here, and I didn't really find anything too adverse about it. I did chuckle at his comment about liberals favoring community and conservatives favoring the individual.

edit: I wanted to take offense to his comment about openness to new experience, but then I started thinking about it, and to tell the truth, I really don't have any desire to see a dude's junk on a statue either.

Didn't check out the interview yet but thought I'd throw in my 2c.

People should be careful how they lump liberals and conservatives together. It's important to remember that things aren't always as black and white as MSM would have you believe. I'm socially very liberal (pro choice, anti drug war, etc.) but a staunch fiscal conservative. I personally view myself as very conservative but don't want to be lumped together with the bible thumpers and other conservatives.
