sarcon
I just wanted to take a second and mention that I think everyone that actually takes the time to train, build your characters and actually dedicate time to FL is extremely talented. The role playing, Pking and general community that is here.. is absolutely amazing. I would like to thank everyone from the immortals to players for being you. Now... lets get back to cracking out on FL and I think everyone should officially create a character you have never played before. See you all in game. sarcon
Especially you Pali... I will always remember your nasty paladins! Amazing RP and PK.. I would always end up finding out who your characters where and make sure to join the opposite cabal, heh.. just to try and better my pk.
Pali
...okay, maybe if you buy me dinner first... And it's not my fault you play too many blademasters. Paladins eat blademasters for breakfast. P.S. Also, I will be back quite soon, but it won't be with a paladin. See you in game.
Archbishop Monk
P.S. Also' date=' I [i']will be back quite soon, but it won't be with a paladin. See you in game. Another healer? Comeon! We've had enough of your poking already. Just think of all the agressive people you've created by your antics. I'd be willing to bet some of the best rp/pk came out of the fact that they were so annoyed by the pokes, they determined to get better just to catch YOU! P.S. You know I love you! You're one of the one's I've always managed to come across on each of my chars, and Rp always exploded or got so twisted up that I just decided to roll with it. Pali
Okay, let's not turn this into a "Pali is awesome" thread. I already know I'm super cool, I don't need your validation. Seriously, though, Sarcon was right in the first place - the community here is great. Without it, I'd be willing to bet this game would've died many years ago, despite its many strengths. Mindflayer
I think everyone should officially create a character you have never played before. With the exception of two illithid necromancers, that's all I've been doing. I will probably try a bard next. And if Elorzin plays his cards right, a herald? April FOOLS! (Too soon?) Pali
*shrug* I've never had trouble with blms as a paladin, even when fighting neutral magic-resist WMs while uncaballed and out-eq'd. Nearly impossible to kill one, sure, but they've got the same problem, and paladins are better at attrition than blms.

EyeSeeU
Foxx why do you love me so much? Aww yes I'm a badass because I didn't agree with Paladins beating Blademasters all the time? Twinblades take a chill pill and lay off.

The-Nameless
a decently played paladin should be able to fight ANY class the same way and win, a huge advantage of the class. Most classes have to adapt to each class they fight, this is not the case with a paladin. You don't choose Ice shield, fire shield, or mana shield. You don't choose Manalock, or Reflective field. You don't choose Divine intervention or not. You CAN prep the same way for every fight, and win each fight respectively. Look at 90% of the paladin PK logs in the logs section. Notice that each one slows combat to suit their needs, fights when they wish to, and does not rush the fight. Now look at the logs of pallies losing. They allowed opponents to control the battle, or did not prep properly, ending in them losing the fight because they lost control of tempo of the fight. This can be applied to blm vs pal. If the paladin can keep control of the fight, and use attrition to his advantage (as they should be doing in every PK) then the blm will lose. On the reverse side if the blademaster is allowed to take control of the battle, dictate the terms of the engagement, then the blademaster will more than likely win. The Forsaken
Meh...I always get rocked as a paladin vs a blademaster. Paladins have no effective way of opening combat.
Bimpni
flamestrike? Dispel evil? They can only predicte one spell at a time. Even if they're neutral...dispel evil should get you in the door, without eating a counter.
The Forsaken
Meh, I was going along the lines of a pally vs neutral blademaster, and notice 'effective'. Opening a fight with a spell that's going to do 0 damage is not effective. All it does is lag you for a round where they can either flee away, or dish out pain to you. And if Elorzin plays his cards right, a herald? April FOOLS! (Too soon?)[/quote'] If you really wanted to make his day, you should do a Warrior that fights out of fear of being attacked in Herald. Granted you may be ousted from Herald, but that would still be humorous to see.
Pali
Meh...I always get rocked as a paladin vs a blademaster. Paladins have no effective way of opening combat. So don't let them play that game. They won't stay in the fight? Fine - the paladin is WAY better at the waiting game than a blademaster is. Let them burn consumables and cps keeping up sanc and the like while you're always a room or two away, taking your time and regenerating better than they are. Nameless was right - as a paladin, never let them force you to play on their terms. Make them play on yours. Also, if you want an effective opener - blind them. I had a lot of fun frustrating blms by fighting them with a sabre+ember and iridescent shield to back up my blinding. Once they're blind, switch back to a polearm and charge the blm into the ground.
