Erana
Posted for a player: Without revealing my identity on the forums, I was hoping to get some tips for a good human bmg. What weapon to dance, and just general advice would be wonderful.
The Forsaken
Notched axe is a pretty good goto dancer and it's typically in. Ask in game any just about anyone will be able to show you where it is.
Mmm Coffee
Oh man...BMG is such an extensive topic because of their upkeep. In order to be successful with the class, you will need to be successful at maintaining your spells and their associated mana-upkeeps. As a human, it can be challening but it's doable. Unless you really like the human race, though, I recommend re-rolling as avian or elf. If you use zmud, feel free to PM me and I can send you my BMG upkeep script. sarcon
I know a lot of people are always talking about the spell upkeep.. I guess because you literally need like 5 Major spells up all the time to be effective but I don't find it that bad. As long as you always have Terra Shield, Air Shield and Blur for the most part your good on Defence. However, then throw in your Blades and Dancing blade for offence and your good. Obviously during battle is when things can drop and you always have to make sure you keep them up. Be careful setting up triggers because you could flee during a fight and all of a sudden you are casting something that has dropped and could potentially cause lag that can get you killed. Offensive: Rust rust rust and more rust for Melee's. Disarm Primary, Secondary and Shield if they have. More damage output is better then to much efforts trying to blind. I find some people spend so much time trying to flashfire and blind them instead of damage output. Literally with the amount of damage you can take you just need to fill them with Sharpmetal and a good Sear if it's day time. Also the Slow Haste combo is great. I would keep myself slowed and haste myself to offset the damage to your legs. However, I would quickly cancel the haste and sneak in an hour of rest if I have the opportunity during a fight. Don't forget about shrink.. the reason why I say this is because it actually helps you land more of your other spells. Thunderclap, Flashfire etc. It takes forever to land but but if you get it in.. fantastic. All in all they are loads of fun to play and if you have someone thunderclaped, blind and no weapon.. ahh.. say hello to ownage.
-Totenkopf-
Script I wrote for BMGs about 10 years ago is passive only. It indicates what spells are active only, but is a clear indication near the command line. I'd never play a character that use triggers to do anything. Thats certain death.
