Pali
From what I can tell, there are different endings based primarily upon your readiness rating and whether or not you destroyed the Collector base at the end of ME2. I am not at all sure how different those endings are, and have no desire to be until I play through the game again. Do I agree that those decisions should have factored in more? Sure, they could've spent another minute or so of cutscene at the end highlighting that Krogans are there or Quarians are there, and that minute would've been rewarding. Do I think it's a game-killer? Not at all. This was Shepard's story, not the galaxy's, and Shepard's story is concluded just fine. The galaxy's can be continued later. EDIT: I will certainly agree that the ending could've been better. It was far from the high point of the game (genophage call was my favorite moment), though I did find it enjoyable nonetheless. To me, the Mass Effect games have always been stronger when it comes to journey than conclusion anyways. I'm fine with 30 hours of awesome being accompanied by five minutes of okay - sure, I'd prefer those five minutes to also be awesome, but... *shrugs* I'd have loved more closure, but I find it hard to damn the game for lacking it. Raargant
Pali: The endings are almost exactly the same. Literally, the difference percentagewise is in the single-digits. Want to see all the endings (besides the failure one)? Go back to your last reload and select the different options (control/kill/unite). It'll allow you to skip playing the whole game again, because none of anything you do matters to the ending (besides the readiness rating). The IGN article is flat out wrong anyhow; no such thing as a NG+ special ending.
Pali
I get where you're coming from... *shrugs* Just doesn't bother me as much I guess. Like I said, another minute or so of cutscene to cover how some of your choices played out (or even just messages like at the end of Dragon Age) would've been great, but the lack of them doesn't piss me off as much as it seems to be angering many. I found the ending a bit disappointing, but not rage-worthy. And in fairness to IGN, they DO say the NG+ thing is unconfirmed. To be honest, I wouldn't be at all surprised if inscribed was right and we see a "new" ending in DLC form in a few months.

Pali
No quote-mining, please. Besides, it's hardly the first time we've agreed on something... to a point. I'm not certain I'd agree that a new ending was planned DLC (edit: I don't put it past them, but speculation is insufficient) - but, given the outcry, I would not be surprised at all if a revised ending becomes DLC. Elrozin
Two thumbs up for the video game ending. Last one on the list. And two thumbs up for the Village ending.
Tantangel
Aside from the few of you enjoying the game here, I have heard nothing but bad from friends IRL about the game. Granted they've all been huge fans since the beginning, I don't know for sure until after I play it myself.
Pali
I only know one other person IRL who has finished it so far, but he loved it. Very much a matter of taste, it seems.
Tantangel
If I can manage to muster up the courage to play the first one all the way through, I'll consider the third one. I'm sure it's great, but that's a lot of game to play considering each one is supposed to average about 30 RL hours.
Pali
I'd say that the first one stands up best as its own game, if you're looking more to just dip your feet in.
Pali
Something that may make you happier, Raar... It seems they're going to be putting out a free DLC pack with an extended ending next week.
