Tantangel
So I was just curious. As I can't really drink regular beer on the fact that there's something they put in it or put more of it than they do for bitch beer, I was curious what everyone here who drinks actually enjoy drinking. Right now since I can't go buy hard liquor and I work the hours of a liquor store, I got some Smirnoff Cherry Lime flavor and find it quite good. I haven't had soda in years, but it reminds me pretty hardcore of Cherry Coke.
inscribed
Man up, drink cheap beer. Smirnoff is for girls. Bud Light/Bud Light Platinum is my default fridge stocker.
Nightmare_from_hell
Miller Lite. Nothing like hometown brew to quench a thirst.
Tantangel
Beer tastes horrible for starters. And to boot I can't drink it without wishing I were dead or I would. Smirnoff tastes way better and Budlight doesn't kill me as bad as the rest of beer, but it still affects me the same. So having a choice between something that I may possible have an allergy to and bitch beer, I choose the bitch beer. Idaho isn't 24/7 like Nevada, but if it were, I'd down a fifth faster than you I bet and still make it to work just fine.
Bimpni
I too, don't really like the taste of beer. When I drink, I usually do shots/mixed drinks like kettle and cranberry, or just shots. Beer, I have the problem of 1, not liking the taste, 2, reaching a point where my drunk to feeling full ratio is off, i.e. If I pound 3-4 bud pounders, well, I don't feel -that- drunk, compared to how just full I feel. So liqour ftw for me. Some beers that aren't bad, imo, taste wise. Some sam adams, I like the summer ale and winter lager. Stella Artois is good. Chemay is tasty and like 12-14 percent. Guiness I really like -if- its on tap and the lines are clean.
Tantangel
I tried some of those you mentioned, unfortunately all of them destroy me. I don't think I've tried either Stella Artois or Chemay though. I've been told a good pale ale would be good for me, but I can't get over the horrible taste or the migraine I get within the hour. Beer usually fills me up far before I get a good buzz going on too. I generally pound back chilli bombs (I order two at a time) when I go out drinking. It gets pretty expensive before I stop usually though.
Mmm Coffee
@Tantangel - have you been tested for Celiac's disease? Have a couple friends who can't drink beer (or anything else produced with grain/wheat) due to Celiac's.
Tantangel
No, but I have never had a problem with gluten that I know of either. Granted I don't eat a whole lot of anything that has gluten in it, and reading over some of the symptoms that practically nailed down everyone I know in some form or another. I suppose I could get tested for it though when I have money to do so, otherwise I just stay away from beer in general. Kind of sounds like a kind of suck *** disease though. Mmm Coffee
Yeah, it's definitely an adjustment. The biggest things my friends used to miss were "convenience food" and, obviously, beer. Now, it's just second nature to them. They actually save money because of all the home-cooking that's required and are probably much healthier than most of us. Atticus
im more of a GREEN party fellow. stopped drinking when I turned 21. /shrug But beer was always more of a social thing.
The-Nameless
Just drink Tequila and sierra mist. Good tequila, not Queervo.
Mali
Cabo Wabo (Reposado - blue bottle) is pretty tasty.
The-Nameless
Completely agree. I like Cabo, but I usually buy a bottle of Patron silver. Mmmmmmmmmm.
Imoutgoodbye
Beer: Labatt Blue. Sometimes Sam Adams if I can get into the mood for it. Lately, though, it's been a shot of Grey Goose Vodka and Kahlua topped with milk. And, yes, it tastes fine at my altitude. No, I'm still not coming down. Squawker the Chicken says, "Hello." The-Nameless
Canada is responsible for Avril lavigne. I cannot endorse their beer. Grey Guese is good vodka. I am lactose intolerant no milk or cream based for me. Alcohol may taste fine at your altitude, your brain is obviously not functioning properly. crackwilly21
Kerosene and turpentine are GREAT! Also mineral spirits, especially if you're running low on fundage.
Deykari
If I'm having a casual social drink I like a decent lager - Staropramen is great, BigMac introduced me to it after stumbling across it when he came across to London and we hung out. There is a special place in my heart for Asahi Super Dry. A good scotch whiskey is nice too, no ice or mixer. If I'm going out for a big night, I'll Jagermeister with Red Bull as my 'default' drink but no holds are barred, I will drink anything. One of our local nightclubs has a rock & heavy metal night called Wolfpack, and one of the staff walks around making spirit-only cocktails in your mouth with whatever bottles he's packing at the time. Some interesting things have happened at Wolfpack... Dey
Venom
Try Guinness beer. Try Chivas Regal 18 years old. Then, tell me what do you think of them

Demiterracotta
I enjoy a PBR once in awhile. Or a rum (I prefer Captain Morgan personally) and diet pepsi. But if I'm DRINKING, I go all out, Irish Car Bombs. I pound three, I hit the floor, I wake up the next morning glad I got the alcohol demons subdued. Bimpni
car bombs are evil, me and my friends were doing them at the bar one night, we were already pretty good and lit, and i was bsin with my one friend, forgot to do mine...and watched it curdle. After that, the thought of a car bomb makes me sick heh. @ Valek Try kettle if you like grey goose, or three olives, both I think are smoother vodkas and mix -really- well, kettle -used- to be cheaper then goose too, but where I am now its a couple bucks higher then goose. Also for your girl (whatever, I like them too heh) Washington apples are great, vodka, apple pucker, and cranberry, tastes like a green apple jolly rancher.
