P_body
playing a dk. What would you suggest I use, a nodis polearm, or a no dis shield with a high dmg flail (or possibly other weapon).
Vintervalpen
That depends entirely on what character you are fighting.
Implementor Anume Posted April 6, 2012 Implementor Report Share Posted April 6, 2012 Malform something that will end up with a great average. That can be either a polearm, a flail, a spear or even a whip. Try to get that noremove instead of finding a noremove weapon to fight with. Shoot F0xx a pm if you want advise whom to fight with what combi, he did very good with Nashmurlahn. HitandRun also had a very strong dk not long ago. f0xx
My personal opinion: I started with Polearm but eventually transferred exactly to flail. I find flail + shield performance better than polearm. Downside is you can't use cleave. My personal advise: Malform what you can and transfer later when you find your perfect weapon. The more important thing is to choose a religion that will suit your playstyle best, which is a VERY hard thing to do if you have no experience with malforms. Feel free to PM me if you need some advices. I tinkered a lot with DKNs and annoyed a lot of people with questions before making my decision. mya
Yep, listen to F0xx, he can give you some good advice. Don't also forget to keep trying new things, to see if they adapt better to your play style. I like sword + sheild for cleave/charge. Spear + shield for defence. Axe + sheild for ofence. This one is great even vs warriors. Remenber, when one has a shield, you can in a second dualwild a flail/axe and burst more damage. Good for when your enemy got bashed by your pet and his sanct fell.
The-Nameless
I think it is up to playstyle honestly. Dks are very versatile with their spell and buff access. To say "play this way" takes away your personal growth as a player IMHO. Granted I have not done a DK in years (prolly 5-6) but I had my malforms up, I used Spear/whip, Polearm, and flail/shield. After I got the spear and whip up I found I was rarely using anything else in most fights, and would switch to polearm when I needed the defense/cleave. Overall I think this question is more tailored to what classes you are fighting. If your fighting Gladiator Fire warriors, then I say spear/shield and mal the **** out of them, if your fighting Savant Shamans, then probably axe/spear or axe/exotic (yea thats right I said it). Review which classes your fighting most often and I think that is going to give you a better answer than a generalized question on forums. There are so many factors. What race, what cabal, what religion etc etc.

The-Nameless
the OP was asking opinions on what weapons to wield, so they asked the question so they could be told what to pk with in order to attain a "stronger" dk. I was stating, you argumentative Bulgarian, that we will happily always offer our opinions. But he should not let our opinions restrict the original poster from expirementing with the class to find their own comfort zone. The trick to being a good player is not copying other good players. It is giving the pbase something that they have not seen, and in turn something that they will want to copy.
