Pali
I know I said I was taking a break, but the simple truth is that I have no desire to continue playing this character. Maybe shamans just aren't my thing and I am terrible at playing one, but I found trying to PK as one to be the most consistently frustrating experience I have had in years here. Yes, there is an incredible amount of power there, and in many respects I would classify most of my engagements as wins... but my actual kill/death record, in about 60 hours of play at level 50, all of them while caballed and in multiple wars, was 1/1 (1/2 if you count my last death while my router was shorted on me, but I wouldn't count a death due to connection loss against anybody's record) - and my kill was on a naked monk who attacked me with minimal prep despite my being completely ready for battle. Most people, in my experience, are simply incredibly cautious when engaging a shaman, and know not to stick around once a couple of mals that actually hurt land - and I simply do not have the chasing skill to follow someone around half the game. This led to hundreds of very short engagements that went nowhere. There's a lot of other smaller things that have been bugging me as well that I don't care to get into. Were I to continue this character, I would simply grow increasingly frustrated - I would much rather start over with something new, which I will be doing shortly. See you all again in game soon. As for shout-outs... Kveldrunar, you are the only person who really embraced the RP I was going with, and you have no idea how much I appreciated that. You are the only person who really deserves a shout-out from Sadokant, and I am very sorry to disappear on you... but I can't keep playing a character I am not having any fun with. Twinblades713
Put it in Tribunal. Global taunt. People roll things to kill you.
Pali
I have no doubt that in Trib I'd have had far more kills/captures - skills that force people to stick around benefit a shaman quite nicely, but to be honest, I've never liked having a combo where a lot of your power resides in the synergy of class and cabal powers. I've always felt that class strengths are what should be the true power in combat - cabal powers are what should tip the balance, but class skills should always matter more. This is not really the way of things, I know, but it's my preference nonetheless. I also had what I fully recognize as the misfortune of playing him while rares are in an abundance... it felt like nearly everyone I fought had great saves, which contributed to my frustrations (but were far from the main cause of them - give me an invoker or paladin in these conditions and I won't complain in the slightest ). tassinvegeta
Giant laggers and rogues are better suited for those playstyles where you don't feel like chasing much. Might suit your fancy.
sarcon
We had a few good battles with Veraz. You had me pretty bad one time where i barely escaped. Demon shaman is by far the nastiest thing ever. I am honestly glad you are not putting any more effort into this character because.. seriously.. if you really decided to embrace him... ouchie. You also were bang on about people hightailing the second a few good things land. You can thank some very nasty shamans prior for that. I remember Olom and Covus were light insta-deaths if you ran into them back in the day.. i am sure there have been more since them but I'm sure you get the point. I think you should roll a Demon Battlemage and BRING THE PAIN!
jibber
I remember Olom, and Messalantha. Those two taught me how to run. Fast.

Pali
You also were bang on about people hightailing the second a few good things land. Or running the moment spell turning drops. Honestly, I would've done the same though.
Twinblades713
Yep. Gotta either land less scary mals or get beat up for awhile. Fighting people a pretty hurt yields fewer flees in my experience with Opp. I did get beat up at times, but more often than not I would be at pretty hurt/big nasties by design. You land dysentery or plague first off at full health and yoi have a long chase ahead of you. It's directly a tactics issue. You don't go into a voker fight without consumables, or a melee fight without the right weapon set right? With a shaman don't bring out the big guns unless you have a tasty bait or chasing dedication.
Chesta6384
Syndicate shaman ftw. No need for explanation.

At the very least, this character has taught me that shamans are not my thing.
