Ive logged a bit over 200 hours on my monk...havent logged in over a month. Torchlight 2 is my new addiction. Auction house just ruined diablo for me personally and duels just sound laughable really. Doubt ill pick it back up tbh.

Sadly, I feel the same.

Can't say I'm surprised that Jay is leaving after constant pressure and all the crap he's taken from a disappointed community.

I'm still playing my DH a lot. Although I have reached paragon 100 and I'm starting to feel like I've done everything you can do and tried every build with it. Still waiting for that insane legendary drop though, haha.

I will probably do another hardcore char. Hopefully they will make hardcore pvp with permanent death some time in the future :)

Auction house ruined D3 for me and I won't be going back. Been playing Path of Exile closed beta (it goes open on the 23rd of this month btw) and it's completely free and is more like how I feel Diablo III should have been. Anyone longing for some Diablo II-style play with a more updated feel (the passive tree is staggering) should check this game out. The items are much more unique and varied than in D3 and the way drops work is just like in D2 - no auction house, and you wear what you find, with usable uniques and rares as you progress. This is an indie game but don't let that fool you into thinking the quality isn't up to scratch. It's a true 'free-to-play' game model too, not pay-to-win.

That game looks interesting. You should make a thread about it and keep us updated.

Path of Exile seems more dark and mysterious like diablo 1 and 2 were, which I really like. Think I will try it out. I've heard that it is a bit slow at times though, as in not as much action as in diablo 3 for example. What do you say dey?

A big problem I have with diablo 3 is the lack of creepiness and terror. A young girl turns into a slim diablo? Pony level anyone? Only in act 1 in diablo 3 do you get that creepy feeling somewhat.

I've also checked out torchlight 2, which is made by the head developers of diablo 2, and it seems to have awesome gameplay. Only problem for me is that it's so colourful, very cartoon-like. So don't think I will try it.

Also, the pay-to-win argument in diablo 3 is a bit exaggerated. Almost no one is using RMAH from my experience. And there is nothing to win in diablo 3 really, except make upgrades for your own character. If you buy stuff with real money to upgrade your char, there is suddenly little point in continuing to play :)

With regards to pay-to-win, I wasn't referring to Diablo III at all but in general the free-to-play game model. Many free to play games have a model that provides bonuses in-game for paying for extras - PoE's purchases provide only cosmetic changes, or things like extra character slots.

Will make a new thread on PoE.
