I'm a newb when it comes to Social Media, SEO, and optimization etc. But I've been trying to learn it all for work as it is, and having something to focus my studying on when not at work would be nice. I'm pretty quick on my feet and would be happy to help with all of this.

WordPress, Wix, and Weebley are the current fads for replacing webpages and designing platforms for social media. They're limited in their designs and I experienced plenty of bugs with Wix and Weebley. WordPress is more intricate, but mainly made with bloggers in mind.

They're not worth much of anything unless you need free and are part of the technological underground. You don't subscribe to that idea of TPACK, do you, sheepy?

Valek, I am not talking about a site hosted by Wordpress but the Wordpress backbone itself.

Why use Wordpress?

Wordpress began as a blogging platform but is now basically a ... publishing platform? It is intended for ease of use and Google love. You say "fad" as if it hasn't been the favored platform for the past six years.

Some of the sites look bloggy, the majority do not.

Considering how often the current site for FL has been updated, I believe a more simplified platform is in order. Something staff can give trusted players rights to publish in seems to be the way to go.

Wordpress would be useful for beginners creating websites, definitely. I myself prefer my own hard-written code to devise a website. Although it may be easier with the SEO and google benefits of Wordpress, I just don't like it.

If the IMMs want to try out Wordpress, that'd be a good idea.

Every site I make is Wordpress now, and I earn a pretty good living from it. Really, Google eats it up. Why reinvent the wheel... unless....

you can write a CMS as opposed to a static site. As I said, having a site that trusted players can regularly update through a GUI would be extremely helpful. I know Wordpress does this well, but Joomla is just as good I suppose. Custom is better if functional. Your wiki looks awesome, for instance. Hell... it would be an improvement over the current site completely by itself. I prefer WP and am far from a "newbie" at this point, but it is a matter of preference.

The tms vote count reset, if we all vote now we can easily move to top ten and stay there if we stay on it. If you don't want to vote because you do not agree it will help, that is fine, no need to respond saying so.

Unfortunately I do not much about web design, but I do like some of sheeps ideas and I agree that improving the look and what is available on the website could definitely use updating. I think it might be interesting for new potential players to have quick access to links of players (I am assuming this sort of thing is usable under the system sheep was referring to) showing their description, and list of accomplishments like Cabal Trusted/Elder or things like that.
