Icor
Typically, everything that you build in Minecraft is made of parts that you harvest and craft by hand. You start with small, weak tools, which you gather parts with which expand your set of tools step by step. When night falls, dangerous creatures spawn that can kill you, so you have that vital first day to create a shelter, etc. When you dig down into the earth, there are even more dangers, and you slowly "colonize" more and more of the map by planting light sources like torches and lamps (which prevent baddies from spawning in their vicinity) until you get completely bored of it. What I'm doing is playing inside creative mode, which is essentially nothing more than Legos or 3D modeling (I guess). I have a bunch of mods installed that are specifically there to help me build things, and survival isn't a factor. I'm also building on super-flat terrain, which is just grass in every direction, and I'm sculpting my own hills and stuff (which is why everything is hollow like a floating model city).
