A Last Farewell, From Despiser and Martineius

I'm taking a little break from FL right now so I didn't notice this until now.

Your chars have always been among the ones I like (and fear :eek: ) the most. I personally think Martineius was THE greatest character I have ever witnessed and interacted with in this mud - and interacting with you was a true blessing, except when you captured me, hah. I must admit that I got a bit frustrated when fighting you, but I still have to say that I really really liked Martineius. He was so good for the game. I remember you once wrote that my thief Nesaren had a big influence on the game (thx, made me happy). You probably realize it, but let me tell you that it was nothing compared to what you did to the mud with Martineius. You made the game so much more fun for everyone (except outlaws ). People say we need more imms? I say, get more people like Despiser (would be very hard to find though) and we'd only need the imps (ok, the current imms can stay sorry, you're great too). I really regret not interacting more with Martineius than I did. And oh crap, crap, crap, why did I condie Nesaren? You gave me cool RP possibilities that I might have been able to handle. Furthermore, you gave me some really good adrenaline fights. I can't give you enough props, I just can't.

Kudos to Despiser. Martineius was excellently played.

It's too bad you couldn't continue, I can already see

changes in the game and the Tribunal will be VERY

hard pressed to maintain any control.

All those hours, all those laws, all that you created

for yourself and those around you will be missed by

many of us. It was awesome to see how much RP

spawned from crime free cities. I am actually a little

surprised you left the throne though, I figured that

the anti-Marti storm has pretty much done it's worst.

I gotta say, after reading these posts, I am ashamed

for myself and for a lot of you. This game is only as

good as its players and a lot of people get RL way

too involved and frankly it ruins the fun IG. I never

jumped on the "down with Marti" wagon, I did try to join

him since I couldnt beat him though.

Makes me think about some things I said on the shoutouts

that got me banned and boy do I feel like a stupid ***.

I hope others learn from this as much as I do.

Probably the thing I think sucks almost as much as losing a high quality, top tier player, is that we IMMs had a worldwide plot planned around the RP conflicts created by his presence in Tribunal that is now effectively scrapped.

Very doubtful any other Vampire could fill his shoes in Tribunal, his style of Rp with Marty was by far so indepth no one else could pull it off, making a vampire plot null without him.

to a point pk and rp can be taught. But Despiser is WELL above that point. He was all around, in my opinion. The best pker and rper I have seen in this mud. I cannot ever recall one of spiser's chars not tearing it up. It is a big loss to fl. Sorry to see him go flat out.

Well I loved Marti with some characters and hated him with others...but always "loved" the experience I was getting. I don't know Despiser cus I'm relatively new to the forums but I do know his characters...and dude knows his stuff. I'd been taking some time off before this all happened...and now I don't think I want to come back. I love this game, I love the community, but you can never win at FL, and this just proves that fact...no matter how good you are or how good you do....there is always something/someone ready and waiting to bring you down. I believe this has definately effected the whole pbase....in a severly negative fashion. Just imagine what the newbs think when they come here and read what has happened? Is this the kind of "world" they want to be apart of?

To all the Marti haters: You got what you wanted so please shut the F up. There is no reason left for the bitching.

To Marti/Despiser - I know how you must have felt with all of this, I'm sad to see you go, I'm sad I didn't get to interact with you more, I'm sad that the "pbase" will be bereft of such a quality player like yerself, but mostly I'm scared, Scared of what will happen to the game now that if one bitches enough things will go there way...That my friends is "cheating".....and believe me that with this, we have ALL been cheated.

I've been too emotional to post on this thread for some time, but now that it's sunken in, I feel I can post.

Despiser was the best player of us all. In all aspects of the game.

Period.

More personally, Big C and Special M both compared Martineius to Galvatar.

For me, that was one of the biggest compliments I've ever recieved (in FL), and it wasn't even about me.

I know I might be in danger of being misunderstood, so let me be perfectly clear here.

Even being mentioned in the same sentance as the guy stands out as a golden moment.

I can't say enough.
