I've always enjoyed learning from your characters, shendy lead to covus which was pretty nice since it was just as they were changing shamans and I happend to like the changes even though it meant more mal saves. I gotta agree with chayes 100% Everyone knows that beating despiser is one hell feat. I've done it twice and that was only on Carriousus another Excellently played vampire. If I didn't have you pushing saulroc the way you did I would have never gotten so good with him to where towards the end it was nothing but draws except when I caught you as sanc fell. Players like you are what pushes us all to improve both in pk and rp you are an incredible person to interact with, best of luck.

I think the IMMs have been incredibly cool to you Despiser. I know this thread is very old, but I don't play here anymore, so I really don't check these forums all that often.

You will always encounter douchebags in the playerbase. Why? Because many people are douchebags in real life. Add that to the anononimity of the internet, and a lot of people have carte blanche to act in a why they normally wouldn't. For someone who has had multiple quest classes/races and such, would you really expect the playerbase NOT to question why you have gotten all these things? Imagine I, joe player, has played FL for three years. Now, joe player is not that bad, has had a few heroes, a few caballed characters, yet cannot seem to get one questclass/race. He also cannot get any meaningful immortal interaction. Whether this is bad timing/Immortals not being on/etc, you have to understand that joe player is going to look at you and wonder what you have that he doesn't. I've seen your RP Despiser, and while it is decent, it is nothing fifty other people playing online MUDs haven't done already. Add that to the fact that the IMMs once let you multi-char and you will find a lot of people don't like you. It's sad that you were OOC taunted and such, but honestly, it really isn't that surprising.

*shrugs* From what I was told, he was allowed to be on his Vampire and his Avian Ninja Knight at the same time, and was very closely monitored. His RP coincided with two of his characters with.. Sereniel was it? Or something or other, and the IMMs allowed it. It's not like anyone else can't do it either, you just need to ask, give a good damn reason, and they'll watch you like a hawk. He didn't break any rules while given permission to get on two characters at once, and he didn't abuse it. I have no ****ing idea why all of you are still stuck on that. Christ.

From a guy who keeps his head low and plays the game just for the sake of playing the game, I have always respected Despiser both with his chars and himself as a player. When he was playing Marty I purposely rolled 2 thieves just so I could intereact with him... got outlawed and wanted on my second thief and sure I got owned by him. Never once did he break his RP, ever. He was a player I always respected and aspired to be. Most of everyone respected him as an uber-elite veteran and I still do. I hope you come back Despiser because you were always one people could count on to be both an RP and PK powerhouse. Peace.

Agreed. I thought Marty was a bit too strong, but I felt that was more due to Trib skills needing to be worked on a bit (IMHO) than from him cheating or anything. Never had anything but respect for Despiser as a player. He's got solid RP and great PK skills.

Listen. Not everyone can do it. And if they can, that is a main reason why I do not play FL anymore. IT SAYS IN THE RULES THAT MULTI-CHARRING IS THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO. It is the definition of cheating. I don't give a flying you-know-what if it is just to RP, it is still the rules that the rest of us are held accountable to. You have Despiser, a player who I immensely respected before I noticed he multi-charred, who then tried to cover that up, then when it couldn't be covered up the IMMs said they allowed it to happen BECAUSE IT WAS DESPISER. To me, and to all other players, that shows a very VERY favorable disposition to a player who at best used his ability to never really challenge himself. RP is RP. As I said before. I can find people who RP just as good as Despiser on any MUD around (note I never said better). Regardless of what I think of his skill, I know when I played, the one time he tried a non-power combo, he deleted after about 100 hours. I for one loved Jubbijity (I freaking powerranked him for 15 levels), but it was a gnome invoker! All of his other characters were maximized for their ability to kill and/or stay alive. All of you players need to stop blindly defending him (and I know half of you know him in RL through AIM and such, so I respect you trying to stand up for your friend) and actually take a minute to look at the player. From what I have been told, his Tribunal Vamp had healers not attacking him. That makes about as much sense as Sashe having a healer with 19 children of different races. Isn't the main goal of a healer to preserve life? I know you can role a non-static healer that maybe perhaps tolerates vampires because it gives them something to do (heal their bite on others) but to have many healers afraid to attack you when you are the Anathema to their very existance? Garbage (and shame on you players who played healers. I know Bryntryst would have turn undead'd Despiser vamp butt in a second, as would Sirant, regardless of his RP).

Not only that, but you have your head IMP asking the playerbase for money to do his damn job? Behrens, I lost a tremendous amount of respect for you for that. Are you kidding? Asking the playerbase to pay your salary? That's just sad.

There are plenty other MUDs that you can play for free, that have coders that do their work for free, that is sickens me that the players here at FL allow themselves to be so complacent, and so comfortable playing FL, that they allow this type of behavior.

This is the last thing I will post on this forum. I really wanted to keep my account active because through all the crap I went through when I played, there are some people who have a modicum of class. I wanted to keep in touch with those people. But as I found out, all the people I enjoyed playing with have left. And that to me, is the most telling blow of all.

To do his damn job? Interesting. A job requires you to get paid for it. Which FL does not. However, he wasn't asking for a 'salary' ontop of his he gets from working now. He was simply stating that he would, if given the money to support himself, code the mud full time, instead of as a hobby. Since when has a hobby been a job? I'm sick of people thinking that the game, and the people who run it, owe them something for playing here. They don't. You owe them thanks for making a game and maintaining it so you could have fun, for free.

"Modicum of class" involves bashing a game, and the people who run it, because you threw a hissy fit over something insignificant? Wow.

I don't think I ever posted about this so I will be brief. I Rp'd with Martineius with two characters over his reign. Chrinchton who never really understood Martineius, I guess they clashed so much because they wanted the same things just in different ways. It was sorta like evolution because it was out with the old "chrinchton ways" and in with the new "tribunal/martineius ways". Although I did not agree with a vampire tribunal at first, I sat down one day and thought about it more, to my justification the character martineius made sense, rp/pk, everything fit. Vampires arent ruthless killers, atleast the noble ones arent. They treat their food "humans" and other races;) not as just food but as their means to survival, because without the "humans" and such how would they feed. So it made sense that Martineius the vampire would protect the humans laws so he could insure his survival aswell as theirs. Quite frankly that is a stroke of brilliance. I also rp with him as my ranger Lydelik whom was an elder of the watchers for a time during the beginings of his reign. Our battles were awesome, I wish now that I had logged but one of them. I did manage only once to defeat him, my tactics however were called sneakish, however I still fail to see how a feral ranger stalker elder watcher slaying a vampire in the city is sneakish...in any case I respect the player behind Martineius aswell as his character, I only hope that he comes back perhaps one day.
