Imoutgoodbye
My computer has shown me this blue screen with words about dumping memory or something like that. Lots of white text on a blue screen. Now my computer runs slow as hell and I'm not sure if it's a driver issue, RAM issue, or a malware issue. Lot of files, too, that seem to no longer exist or can't be found or Windows wants them reinstalled. Anyone know much about these puppies? Should I just get a new computer? I have about two weeks until school starts.
Icor
My only experience with the Blue Screen of Death was had in the event of hardware malfunction. In my case (all three cases, actually), it was that my computer was overheating and causing severe damage to my motherboard. I noticed also that after trying to boot the computer up right away again, it did what you said yours is doing... running really slow, and showing very nasty, confusing behaviors. Akoz
do this for me... Start Run dxdiag (you dont have to have it sign digital signatures or w/e it asks) does it show you running the right amount of memory? The reason I ask is if your computer was using most of your ram and a stick of it went bad then it would crash because it was expecting more ram and now its running slow which means it could be running on less ram. hard to tell not being there, if it comes down to it, I can run a go to meeting with you and fix it remotely (what I do for a living atm)

Akoz
can not copy and paste a blue screen error... its blue screened well technicly you could hunt down the log on the computer, but good luck with that if you don't know what you are doing. The-Nameless
what you do is. Write it the **** down. Why bother splitting hairs in a thread where we are trying to help someone?
Akoz
Because most blue screens go by in a 1/2 a flash and dont stay on the screen except for a select few models and/or if you set it that way.

Imoutgoodbye
RE Awendris: The computer is running 3072 M of Memory. Not sure if that means much. I think it's supposed to run higher. It has 3 GB DDR3 Memory. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5734Z-4836. They don't sell them anymore. I got mine for $250 when they discontinued the line. RE Nameless: I saw the blue screen twice. Haven't seen it since, so, no, I can't write down every word. It also went by in about five seconds. I'm just a fast reader. RE Volg: No probes. I don't know what you've heard about me, but no... RE Icor: Thanks. That may be the precise reason why it's stopped functioning. This was the first laptop I've had and rather than do a normal shut down, I just close the laptop. The batter died last year, too, so it's always plugged in. May have caused some issues there. Thanks for the help everyone!
Akoz
The ram looks fine - if you ever need me to remote in and have a look-see pm me. 1024MB = 1GB 2048MB = 2GB 3072MB = 3GB Good to go there
