Nprs has it 84-65 romney, and it's far to early to take those numbers very seriously.

Florida has been waffling all night, and i'm sure they'll be a scandal. A new article came ago not long ago about absentee voter fraud where people who claim to help the elderly get their vites to the polls have been fillig ot the ballot sheets themselves and selling them. Both parties hae been accused.

According to what i've heard from abc no president has ever won without Ohio, and the winner in new hampshire is usually a more than fair shot for the presidency. All can change though.

what all sites are you using to watch? I have the washington post up. I rarely follow politics as I feel the basis of the two-party system is flawed and is set to have the rich (earned, perhaps) lead. if I had a choice, a scientist would be in office, but I am still quite curious.

Ohio is looking like its going to Obama, and North Carolina and Virginia will probably go to Romney. It's all about Florida right now.

I voted for Gary Johnson, because he was the best choice for president. Between Romney and Obama, though, I'm hoping for a Romney win. Obama and Romney are largely similar in their choice of policy, but with three SCOTUS picks possibly on the line, a Republican in office means my personal freedoms are protected in the Supreme Court, while a Democrat in office means the government gets more powerful.

It's what happens dude. Democracy is just majority rule, and when a majority of your population are leechers and not providers, you get a government that favors spending more than you make and providing free services off the back of the handful that do provide.

In reality, Romney wouldn't have brought about any miracles over the next four years, and with him defeated, we can hope to see more of the "A-team" Republicans run in 2016. The major downside to an Obama victory is the possibility of him appointing another three justices to the SCOTUS, which could destroy many of our personal rights and freedoms. For all their talk about sticking up for the little man, justices appointed by Democratic presidents ALWAYS favor government over the individual.

I consider myself a provider with education/experience that will get me work in any condition... so I will be just fine (relatively) regardless of how bad the economy gets. I'd hate to be poor, sick, or jobless right now, though!

I was a bit disappointed to see the Republicans fail to pick up Senate majority. I think that speaks volumes about the condition of the Republican party at the moment. Hopefully this will spark a swing further right for the upcoming years. Where did all of the fiscal conservatives go?

Do away with electoral college and adopt same voting laws as Australia.

It's illegal there not to vote from what I'm told.

The electoral college needs reform, but getting rid of it completely is a terrible idea. It would take away influence from the lower-population states.

And forcing people to vote is terrible as well. Not only is it a violation of a person's individual freedoms, but the people you'd be forcing would typically be less educated and more prone to vote for the candidate with better face time.... i.e. more money.
