Azzar Khul

Sadly I think it is time to let go of Azzar. Talk about a character I felt absolutely comfortable with lol. Now onto the RP that noone ever really figured out.

Azzar was originally the thrall of a red dragon named Ghordryx. The servant who survived the brutality of The Red (as he called himself). As he was the only survivor his strength was recognized, and he was sent out to serve the dragon abroad. Wreaking havoc, and chaos in the name of the red without risking exposing the dragon himself. The dragon was a lover of destruction, and could be persuaded to destroy with no real payment. Ghordryx was tricked though, a wagon of "commoners" transporting "herbs" was his target. He ate much of the stores in the wagons, only to find it was stuffed full of a drug found only in Hell. It was both Violent, and lethal in it's addiction. Slowly it became apparent demons set up this occurance. A demon would supply him with just as much of the infernal leaf as he needed to survive each day, no more. Slowly the Dragon withered to nearly nothing, and was a broken shell of his former self. That was when the demon offered the weed for his body. The dragon had no choice but to accept, or die. So was born the Dragon Demon. He was then slowly warping Azzar's mind through possession. Slowly blending the Psyche of a dragon, with the body of a Giant. The process was unheard of, and the effects became apparent. The superior mental power of the Dragon won, and the being known as Azzar ceased to be. All that was left was a demon controling him through a dragon.

I had been working on an RP "plot" to craft a demon that woke up people randomly from sleep with nightmares. Some of you may have noticed I was asking everyone about their deepest, darkest memories. THe things that scared them in the night, and haunted their memories. That would be why.

In the end it became an issue of boredom. I would log on and have nothing to do but armies, and consumables. Gets old once you start having 2 backpacks with only consumables (1 of only nymph hearts).

Shoutouts:

Zanzurok: Oh where to start with you! Obviously IC we had differences, but only because we where so similar. You where much more straightforward about your day to day approach to cabal life, I tried to be more underhanded and sneaky. Loved you.

Dagnab: Great sport, and talented. Sad you just vanished, and I never saw more of you. Really enjoyed your never stay down spirit.

Grylok: Ouch. Us fighting was just one big damage noun.^^^BOOM^^^

Majandra: I really enjoyed interacting with you, even though you knew me and zanz would be gunning for a coup lol. Wish you the best of luck in your Nexus life.

To anyone I am forgeting, I am sorry, I interacted with ALOT of people as Azzar, and you just lose some things over time hehe. I respect the level of RP people are bringing to FL now days, and I can only say keep it up!

Man, I truly enjoyed being in the same cabal as Azzar. Like you said, we had our differences and our egos often collided to the point where we had one single fight, I wish we had a few more honestly. It was difficult for our relationship to grow because we both wanted so much power, but knew that if we fought it would hinder us. It was a " I let you live if you let me live " type of relationship.

Having you around was a major boost to my confidence when running up against some of the tougher characters. I knew that I had a competent ally I could rely on when things got tough or numbers got out of hand. I DID have quite a few plans for you, but like you said, boredom took over. It happens to all of us.

I think we took on just about every area in the game together and did awesome. You took a combo that has a ton of on-paper-power and turned it into a real thing. Like all your characters, you never cease to surprise and amaze me. I remember when you were a utter failure with ALL your characters, then somewhere along your time here a switch flipped and you became very tactical, often predicting my moves better than anyone, which was annoying.

I'll miss Azzar/Ghordryx,

Zanzurok

I really think it is based solely on your playstyle, and how you use your combo. Each zerk race has potential to be seriously powerful, you just have to appeal to the strong points of the race to do it. An ogre would be more about attritioning, and less for the throat than I played Azzar. Personally I enjoy the all out foot on the gas style you can get away with as an FG. That is not to belittle any of the other races (except werebeasts which suck because no blindfighting + h2h sucks)

I just recommend highlighting the perks of each race, and seeing which zerk path and cabal path most amplifies those perks. Here are a few examples:

Ogre Fury Stalker

Stone Anger Barbarian

Fg dev reaver

If you identify each of the perks of that race/zerk path you will see the cabal choices highlight the benefits of those, and inherently make that a stronger zerk.

Oh, by the way, I loved it how Azzar's "common say" smote had "says". It made my "%1 says '%2'" trigger shoot. I wish more people would use that. (I have separate window where says, tells, cbs and so on are relayed - easier for me to keep up with conversations and "remember things" when I can scroll back on separate window)

In a voice born of thunder Azzar says ' Yea.'
