Mmm Coffee
I'll go out on a limb here and say that anyone claiming "Tool sucks" knows little to nothing about music (not taste, but composition).
CruelEdict
Tool is by and far my favorite band.
Mattamue
I respect that Tool songs are, for the most part, complex compositions. However, the new single track sounds like it could be straight out of Lateralus or Aenima. If I wanted a recycled track I'd just burn their stuff onto a blank cd and black-marker it with a different name. Being more of a Tool fan than me you might be able to tell me how it differs, but I deserve my opinion as much as you do, Beer. I was being a total jerk just saying that they sucked. Totally my fault if I pissed you off a bit.
Fiere
I don't go for any of that so called musical stuff, i.e. tool or metallica, on account of I'm much more a voice person. Instruments are just background to the voice, to me.
Deykari
I don't go for any of that so called musical stuff' date=' i.e. tool or metallica, on account of I'm much more a voice person. Instruments are just background to the voice, to me.[/quote'] It's funny that. Before I picked up a musical instrument I was the same, but once I started playing guitar, I seem to notice the instrumental parts of the song much more, such as melody/harmony, composition of the song, and whatnot. Often when I first listen to a song, it's the instrumental part that grabs me, (or at the very least, the melody-line of the vocal part) and after I've had time to listen the lyrics slowly come in. a-guitarist
since my diagnosis, I haven't been able to listen to just the words of a song. For some reason I have to feel the music, how it affects me emtionally. This usually means everything combinded. But not so much what the words mean, but rather how they fit into their place and mesh with the music. I look at words as more notes to take in. That's why when someone tells me, "listen to these words." I have to listen to the song about five or six times. Oh, and btw. Tool is awesome. a-g
