FL member passing

Oog

Recommended Posts

Most people will not remember me, for I have been away from FL for a very long time. I come back here to let anyone who knew him, RPGRaccoon, has passed away. I do not think he has been here since 2.0, so many might not know of him. He was a close friend of mine and a few others who might still be lurking around here. I just thought that some people might want to know.

When a soldier of the FL ranks falls, the loss effects the whole community. We lose a kindred spirit. He may not have played in some time, but by being a part of the game he became forever a part of our family.

As a member myself, I want to thank him for his contributions, big and small. I wish all the best for those that remain behind. You, too, are our family.

We've lost a few over the years now. It's with heavy heart we take a moment to acknowledge the passing of a kindred spirit, one whose value the world would do well to take note of. We grieve with you, Oog, and are here when you need us. Would you care to share a few FL moments you and he had and give us some insight into some of your other memories from over the years?

I knew him as well. He was a good friend, and a GREAT roleplayer. His first character in FL was a Half-Drow, I remember.

He was responsible for getting me into the nitty-gritty of roleplaying. He introduced me to ADnD (2nd E) back in the day, and helped me make my first ever proper RP character. And in turn, Oog, myself, and a couple others brought him into FL.

He was an exceptional guy, and a great friend. He will be missed, and I'll raise a drink to him every chance I get. I have a feeling he's in Valhalla with the rest of great Warriors.

He had always been a sickly person growing up. He was born with a heart disease. He was a small guy. Let me tell you, he was one heck of a DnD player and DM. Many years ago, I had a bday party. I think I was turning 17. About 15 people showed up. He was one of them. Shocked me like crazy because he had never stayed anywhere away from home that wasn't a hospital. While there a friends mom kept trying to rape all the guys. Him being the main one she was after. It was an amazing night, and if I didn't know any better, he became a man that night. He is also the first person to get me to play DnD, and without him, Oog would not have ever existed.
