Spark215
Could have it where there is a chance to break a bone and the affect is relative to which one (if any) is broken. I think Giants would get hurt more as they ride larger animals and are less dexterous. More weight = more pain, I'd assume.
Implementor Anume Posted October 24, 2012 Implementor Report Share Posted October 24, 2012 Re Tassin: if you want to break the rules and kill yourself you can do it against any big mob by removing your eq and not fleeing already. That would be way faster as spamming yourself to death by chopping off 50 hp at 50. It both would break the rule "Death is to be avoided." and may well lead to you just not being given another chance if we catch it.
crackwilly21
I hate this change. I took a death because of it and a lag spike earlier.

Tantangel
I posted mine in Prayer and they said they'd look into it. Mine was 100hp though on the nose. Doesn't bother me really now that I've played it since the change was put in, it's slightly humorous to be honest. We'll see what happens with it in the long run. But at full hp, removing your eq and dying to a big mob purposely is much more obvious than dying to this change especially if used in subtle ways. It seems like the point of this change IS to hurt people so how can you truly police this when self-harm seems nearly encouraged? Additionally your solution merely breeds more negativity "you may not be given another chance" I yet to see any positive benefit from this change. I also nearly died to this as a ghost which I also could have used to my advantage with some scenarios I have in my head. Again not saying I would do it but we have smart people here. jibber
Change it back, please. None of the players like it, and it just isn't necessary. Implementor Anume Posted October 24, 2012 Implementor Report Share Posted October 24, 2012 A newbie will be a low level player when they first encounter this. They will loose the same amout of hp as their level is. If a level 1 does this, they will loose 1 hp. I don't see it as a huge problem for newbies. I don't see it as a problem for someone who does not know how to use aliases. If they do not know how to use it, they can still type dismount and then sleep. They will be slower but that will be the case also when they are disarmed, when they change weapons, when they hunt someone (color triggers), when their spells fall, etc. etc. So this does not really have anything much to do with newbies. I think it is mainly the vets who are bitching because this change is frankly doing two things: - it is not what you guys are used to and anything new that forces you to put in a little more effort or to remind yourself of something should be avoided - a lot of vets are against changes that are for fun or atmosphere in general as long as there is not something they profit from for their pk fights. I bet you most of you would be for something if it allowed you to toast most other people more easily, newbies included. That being said, I think the reaction of the pbase, in this case almost exclusively of the vets, is extremely discouraging. The damage is low already now, 2 x level not 1 x as I thought at first, but we will consider tuning it a bit more down so you guys do not toast yourself by losing the 50 hp at 50. Ayroduth
So are people that fly going to have to land now before they go to sleep? If you can fall off your horse (which seems to affect more melees than most) shouldnt you fall from the sky if you are flying? Seems only fair to make both sides of the spectrum the same. Mmm Coffee
I would be annoyed if fighting someone, get them under 50HP, they attempt to catch a tick while mounted and die to the fall damage. Especially if I was a class/cabal that benefits from death like a DK or Syndicate/Tribunal. That's the biggest annoyance I can see.
egreir
Doing it twice at fifty is 200hp that's almost 30% of max hp for alot of low con warriors rogues and especially caster/communers
Tantangel
Just change it to where it stuns them like after a challenge but not with the huge timer on it. Then those people still get the malform feed and such and it can't be abused.
jibber
I'm a bit miffed that the staff has never been for realism, ever. If you want posts to prove this, I will find them. Now, suddenly, the staff wants to adhere to realism and stray away from fantasy and add this change, then argue its just because we don't like change is why we hate it? Please -- if anyone can get around this it's the scripters with their clients, which most vets happen to be and have. This has nothing to do with us hating change. This change however is downright stupid. If I come off strong, I'm sorry, but that's about what I think the change is.
Imoutgoodbye
Someone call the Whhhaaaaaaaaambulance. The staff did something people didn't like! Take some responsibility that you'll have to deal with it,suck it up, and live with it. If you can code a trigger to fix it, do it. Dismount before you sleep. It's AVOIDABLE. If anything, at this point, every IMM should tell you to shut up and hit the door if you don't like it. They spend hours of their lives on this, they try something new,and it's always Whaaaaa! I don't like rares crumbling on death, I don't like not being able to delete at 50, I don't like....well, insert almost any new change here, it's usually met with an overwhelming Waaaaaaah if it wasn't something the players had on their Christmas Wish List. FML. Where's this "take responsiblity, you make your own choices" attitude I always see on the forum? Monday Morning Quarterbacks.
I've Killed for Less
Please tell me, will this wake someone if they are mounted and you land a blackjack/strange/sleep spell on them. Please IMM's tell me that. IKFL

The-Nameless
blackjack is not being lulled into sleep. It is being slammed in the skull by a lead filled bag and passing out from blunt trauma.
