Undead Wight and Spellkiller

Glimmering Staff for Sanctuary

1) I can use this without STAVES skill right? I know i asked some people, but want to make sure.

2) Why isn't my spellkiller working!? I spellkill FIREBALL, yet the undead wight fireballs me all day long for DISINTEGRATES after it dispels my sanctuary.

Also I notice my spellkiller spell proficiency hasn't been going up. It's at 75, so something must be wrong? It should at least learn from me casting it OR failing with it?

Yes im wielding two handed weapon for those of you wondering (corrected).

As stated in original post, yes I was wielding TWO HANDED weapon. Wont let me initiate spellkiller otherwise.

Maybe you're right about not being able to spellkill area spells? Died to undead wight 6 times now due to fireball spams. So it definitely doesnt seem to kill that spell.

Go and test it against a player who can cast fireball (or another area effect spell) to find out if its you or the wight or something you are doing. While I can't say for sure - there is a reasonable chance that the wight was deemed to easy to kill for a feral blm (much like how Steel has been altered to stop the easy runs with bows) and something was implmented to ensure a 'level playing field.'

Let us know how you go.

That's true now that I think about it. The Wight is a bit of an enigma in the way it casts, it is not the same as a player.

My advice on the wight is to wield a cursed primary, offhand holy weapon, set your footwork so you're attacking with your offhand, go bladestorm and just onslaught it to death.

Spellkiller works ONLY on spells. If you don't hear him say the magic words' date=' he isn't using a spell. You'll notice you will never spellkill a prayer for the same reason.[/quote']

There is a very important part in this quote.

There are ways to avoid spellkiller even if you are casting.

Just as there are ways to cast when you are silenced.
