Ellwyn
Anyone know anything about this? I was lead to Mattamune's plugin but can't figure it out for the life of me. It's very complicated and seems inaccurate. I hate Zmud btw. I tried the 30 day trial and its even more complicated. It constantly takes me off my prompt and does other things like split the windows and I can't see whats going on. Very deadly when trying to run for my life. KRins
It doesn't work for me either. I think it will only respond if you have the time in your prompt displayed in a specific way. I just kind of get a feel for when that "twenty-five past" message pops up in the actual scheme of the tick. Doesn't work nearly as often as I would like, but I catch more than a couple. jibber
tintin++, folks. I'll help anyone with any script they want to make, simply because I want people to be able to compete at the level I do.

Ellwyn
Alright, much reading and still stuck. Know how to modify my prompt? <%h/%H * %m/%M * %v/%V>[%t] <351/351 * 167/404 * 303/303>[1] I tried and got this error: Line 41: Error "Failed: missing terminating ] for character class at offset 54" processing regular expression "^\<(\d+)\/(\d+) * (\d+)\/(\d+) * (\d+)\/(\d+)>[(\d+)\]" (trigger not loaded)
L-A
While I don't use a tick timer the basic theory is to setup your client via 'time' commands to echo a warning every X seconds. You reset the timer as often as possible of the global echo's you see in game to account for the randomness of ticks. For example: At 25 seconds echo to yourself 'Tick in 5 seconds' When you see 'The sun rises in the east' you have your timer reset to 0. What you want to do is collect as many global echo's as you can since ticks are random. You ideally want to reset on every tick if possible. I'm sure some of the other players have some nifty tricks (and a great long list of echo's) if they want to share. The easy way is to play and everytime you see something quickly add it (learn how to do it via command line for better speed). It won't take long for your list to grow In game type 'help tick' as a good starting point. L-A

Tantangel
To be honest, timers are far over rated. I use a lot of color triggers and I gauge the ticks based off of certain things in the game, such as combat rounds. As for certain classes that need timers I found it much easier to color trigger them because it's less that I have to worry about. I have played most of the last 11 years so maybe that helps in gauging how or when to sleep. I haven't had any problems with my prompt line though. And literally out of the 50 or so triggers I have, 7 of them actually have outputs. Three of those are very similar in nature, one is a pmote from probably back in 2004 which isn't even enabled, another is for starstones which isn't enabled, one for mounting when I shink in size and the last is just a simple prompt for when my Vials disappear so I know to get more to replace it. The-Nameless
I used: Macros. I can't be bothered with your color triggers, and highlights, and multi line triggers. I use 3 macros, and run around/chase with numpad.
Ellwyn
Pft, well if so many people dont use it... I guess I dont need it either? Someone told me the importance of "sleeping before a tick". And man, my tick guestamator just isnt there (probably from lack of experience). What I find is I sleep, and 10 seconds later the tick still hasn't changed (or someone jumps me and wakes me up). I'll work on it...
The-Nameless
you will get a sense for it, a real trick is figure out how many rooms you can move between ticks at a full speed running from a pk stance. That will help you track it pretty well. Or eventually your brain will try to make your fingers type sleep every 28 seconds. Like how Tarako puts an ' before everything he types. Much love Desalvo, glad I brought you here
Tantangel
Yeah, I know I can run six areas in one tick as far as commands go but usually it all goes through in just over two ticks for three areas depending on my ping time. I go about 10 rounds or so before I flee, run a few rooms and toss in a sleep. I still do the same thing you do where I sleep 10-15 seconds early from a tick because I'm just losing too much HP too fast or something so I'm hoping to catch a early relief sometimes, but you can still set it up. I tried the numpad movement, but I'm not used to it yet so generally when I set it up it's not for movement so much as it is for simple hot key items for when I'm in a PK. Great to use if I'm questing, but in a PK situation I can't use it at all, especially if there are up and down terrain. Best way to get used to it is create a new character and run around and test out how many rooms you can go in one tick and then subtract about 5 rooms and sleep. You'll be early but on those random ticks you'll catch it good usually. That was the easiest way for me to do it. Do it right about 30 times in a row, you'll probably have it in the bag. It's one of those things that just comes with experience with the class. I catch a whole buttload of ticks as a blm... anything else catches a lot less. It will come eventually, like knowing to flee before you are actually a dead fish and can't anymore against a shaman, etc.

Celerity
It may be easier to count combat rounds instead of rooms moved. If you want an essentially certain tick, sleep after the fifth round. Usually you can sleep after the sixth. Sometimes seventh, less likely eighth, etc. Keep in mind it takes about a round to flee and sleep. If I'm fighting a mob or dirted opponent for instance, I would fight 6ish rounds and sleep, which generally accounts for the round(s) spend fleeing/re-engaging pretty well.
