Grim_Reefer
First off, I -LOVE- jalapenos, love 'em. Especially the ones that come in the tin can you have to use a can opener to open... the full peppers in the juice with sliced up carrots and onions. Thats like candy to me. The only problem is, once I pop I just can't stop. For the record, I just got a cheap can (bout $1.27) at Kroger and popped them open and started chowing down. One lead to two, two lead to three, etc. Man, and the cut up jalapeno juice marinated carrots? Mmmmm lordy. Needless to say, I have now eating every jalapeno in the damn can and the sweet flavor has turned into a hellish blaze inside my mouth. Whats the best way to calm that burning down? Sometimes I get masochistic and slam an ice cold coca cola which enhances the burn, but turns it into a chilled burn... but damn, once the fizziness of the coke wears off.... man, it leaves your mouth as nothing more than an ashen graveyard where a tongue once lived. Milk doesn't work, bread doesn't work. The best thing I've found is physically wiping my mouth out with a wash rag. Any suggestions?
Aulian
Yoghurt maybe? You need something with a bit of an alkaline base to neutralize the acid.
The Forsaken
Milk/Yogurt, any lactose usually helps. Keep chugging it.
inscribed
Just ride the pain out. Let saliva build up and cancel the burn. If you're chasing every bite with liquid, it washes away the saliva so it never has a chance to work.
Mali
Nothing a whole cup of pure beet juice won't cure.

Elrozin
Put yogurt ON your tongue. Don't eat it. Let it sit. After a minute, wash it down with milk. Repeat.
Akoz
Just sit there and chew on some bread pieces slowly. Works for me
ajwetton
Dairy products will help best, water and most other things like that don't help as capsasin(spelling) is resistant to water and will just stay on your tongue the dairy will help neutralize it. Had a day in culinary school where we talked about it and then tested it.... talking about it was fine... wasn't so fond of the practical application side. lol
