Questioner
Looking at my screen I remember my first fl character ever. Too bad he is still in game otherwise i'd tell you all who he was. I can only say he was the noobiest rogue and still is in the game. I'd like to let you all go back on your noobie days in fl and recount about your first experiences. Feel free to blab. I am so bored....
Talcian
First FL character I can remember having was..... Morgul, back in the days of 1.0. I think he was a human shaman if I recall right. I remember getting destroyed by some female vampire (don't remember her name) and a psi that charmed me, led me to the Emerald Forest, made me remove all my gear, and then proceeded to beat the hell out of me. Those were the days.
Deykari
My character I played properly got to pinn, and condeath. Verniere Levimaten, Half-elf Paladin, got to Member in Knight. I didn't know any EQ could be found outside of mithril/titanium/rings and I was just a total punchbag for everyone. Fun nontheless. Dey
Pieman
Hallock, human dk, had cool rp ideas but i was just far too much of a newbie to make them work so i think ill try again sooner or later.
Guest emp_newb
Davada Qraced fire giant to Gremar. nexus reaver. Back when despiser had grunge(ew) and nexus was at vendetta with WM. So I was a punching bag. Had some great times with Kabur, Muro, and a few of the other WMs. Did get my hind-ding handed to me, condeathed to a justice. Was not easy being only melee nexus with 3 wars going agains't seperate cabals. Gotta give props to Xequilant and Presumpant for helping me when they could. But the char was a great learning experience and it taught me a whole lot about the game.
Merriwren
My first character was Metria, a human or half-elf warrior. Probably the worst decision ever since I knew nothing of equipping and wasn't at all interested in PK. She didn't make it past 30. Then it was Vivace, a something invoker...met the same fate. Then Merriwren was my third char and first pinn.
Baby Hippo
First char ever was "Fanner" and he was a dark knight. At the time i wasn't really into FL yet. But i started him and got hooked. Didn't pass lvl 28 with him, BUT IT WAS FUN!
Hegemon
First Character, Drow Ninja. I didn't understand hitroll, I figured instead it was simply a "bonus", but not necessary as my natural Drow Ninja uberness would simply allow me to dodge and parry everything. So, needless to say I got owned. A lot. But, I learned a few things. My clearest memories are of anyways running up to someone and using my uber ninja skills (Sanctuary is nice, after all, but I'm a freaking Drow Ninja, I've seen movies, I know I'm invincible, I don't need it. Flight? That costs money. Weapons? Well, I have two slender lightning spears, nothing can stand against that...) only to immediately find myself at 10 hp or so after two rounds. I remember going back to that character, after about six months of Nexus training. Among other things, I landed my first assassination on a caballed character (Warmaster, while he was helping some lowbies rank in Solace), taking on a qraced rogue and actually surviving (one of my goals), and I started walking around without the state of constant fear I remember when I got schooled day and night. I also started taking my first steps towards not playing a caster/communer because of this. Edit: Played that one until condeath.
Iyorvin
Mine was Tymox. Haha, back when Syndicate had Despiser, Tetsunai, Fem-Nec, and Gomanhor in it at the same time. Talk about a beating post. I was Justice, made E, got demoted flagging the wrong person , then made avatar(never ended up using any skills cause I didn't know how), and was titled the Berserk because I"d just flee and charge against anything evil **Edit** Flee-charge used to work back in the day before it was changed, and you could lag every time and get full damage. Rairen
Sereniel Quis, half-elf bard. Never had maxed stats because I didn't understand the whole 'rolling' thing when I started. Got politely reprimanded by a player for putting ':)' in tells. Oh, and quickly learned that the best route for a bard at the time was to wear the worst equ possible. Edit: Oh... my. When I said she never had maxed stats... | Str: 13(13) | Int: 20(20) | Wis: 20(20) | Dex: 12(13) | Con: 15(18) Only a bard could live for 2,000 hours under those conditions. Psycho Child
First Character? Oger Zerk, deleted after getting gangbanged by a group consisting of a dk, a shaman, and a voker. *shudder* Never seen 1800 hp disappear so fast in my life. First (and only) Caballed character? Werebeast Ranger in Chaos. Got owned. Repeatedly. Never had better than Mithril, enchanted leather bracers, opal rings, etc. Only weapon she used was a ranger staff (cabal stuff not included). Her app was on the web page for a while as an example app for Nexus...(even though nexus didn't exist at the time...heh). Looking back at that app there are sooooo many spelling errors...I know not all of them were me, I bet Viri added some when he put it on the site. Maventiem
Earliest I can recall is Cithralas ( wrong name, been way too long, hehe ), Elf Invoker Savant. But my time leveling him up was the ' funniest ' to date. I recieved a record for me, 100k+, exp hole from Kaddar Faeries. I also requested to be Outcasted by Sirant, back when I thought it was something cool to be, then promptly turned around to beg to be unoutcasted when I couldn't get back into my guild, lol. Once he had, after a few weeks of RP punishment, I hit 50 and joined up in Savant. Safe to say I got torn up to and fro, so I moved on to other projects. Teralis
Brylak werebeast ranger in warmaster in early 1.0 just after Beta, Had the pleasure of fighting Yekosavik some, as well as many other notable savants most of which I did very well against, although Yeko/WC its still 2 you 1 me hehe need to even it up hehe. Fondest battle was of me and crap cant remember his name a illithid psi starting with (K) fighting just west of Val for what seemed like an hour finally I beat him just to have Dedrick walk in while I was still cabal skilled and I auto attacked him and died in like 1 round. Thanks Cerebity hehe, got back and all the stuff I looted from the psi as wel as my own had been relooted by the psi and was left naked. Edit: *Sniff* Good times. Mattamue
Oh man, if I still had my old OLD pc that thing had like 100 megs of plain text logs clogging up every folder. More who and where pk spam than you could fit into the right side of pi. Like I posted in another thread my first pre-50s weren't all that spectacular. I like to think that it only took the one incident for me to learn what the mud was really about. After that.. My first 50 was an elf ranger who got the **** stomped out of him every other day. Second was another elf ranger I had restrung and ran the hell away from everyone with. He actually stuck around until the sea elf city was added and I totally didn't know what to do with him and he got inactive deleted. Were druid 20 deaths from condead. Elf voker who killed himself pushing the limits of charge and tendrils in pk all the time - I would die to my staff frying my brains as often as I would to anything else (I had crazy fun with this guy - I remember charging in incriments of like 250 at one point during a drawn out battle just to keep up half-round icicles with ice shield vs some fire giant and I let prot shield fall after a <<>> brain cooking). Armed with a little more eq knowledge I rolled a drow dk after LA's monster but only ended up getting my *** kicked because everyone did their best to keep me from flee/triplocking. I can't remember any names at all, but I remember apping to Synd as this dk with Spiser's man/woman/man played by a man as a woman character as the L. Or something. I was never clear on that one. I had an elf paladin in there that I earned the most of my noterity with, but he was never 50. I apped royal, but couldn't take the pressure of actually holding any sort of spot in a cabal over M (especially pre-50) and just had the crap knocked out of me by Toten's undead monk every other day. He made it into someone else's rp log and got to chill out at the pillar of souls a few times. I was proud of making it into someone else's rp logs. Until a knight refused to sheath and I exiled him and he left town and I attacked him for making a total *** out of me in front of everyone in Val and then got tortured to death by the imms who didn't like me charging other paladins. Oh, I think my 2nd ranger was like e of Sacred Oak or something. Or Nature. Or whatever it was, it got bashed on the forums all the time even though I never saw the crap that went down or whatever. Oh, Kalug was in there and I said he was ugly in tells to someone or something and he heard and we hated each other because he was all mean and me ranger liked the short halfling more than the orange baby eater. I guess I am and was more casual than most of the players who get t e and l in cabals. I think I'm cool with that too. Now you know my life story. Nympha
Hehe. Saisha Aljoaib. 50 Ogre ranger. Rolled her at beginning of beta, got my *** handed to me all the time by the 5 people that played including my brother. Remember leaning over to him at his comp next to me going. "Stop it you are killing me! I hate you!" Got her to 49, 150k exp hole. Her stats were crappier than anything! I think I had like 12 str. Then Viri did something and accidentally erased several characters! He remade all the chars he deleted including Saisha. Got set at 49 with like 2ktnl, maxed stats and 15 skills of my chosing maxed to 100%. Leader of Sacred Oak, Guard of Rheydin and had alot alot of fights with the dreadlord Justice. I couldnt kill him, he didnt quite ever get me. Lost her on the pwipe switching into 2.0. Remember only reason I eventually pinned her is cause she met this other Ogre named Stench. They got married and he powerranked her the last two levels to 50. All in all she was alive from beginning of Beta to the end of 1.0. Only char that got a special imm quest. -Forced a smelly Ettin to take a bath- I called Brynstryst to come talk to me and when he came down, I jumped out of the bushes and shoved him into the water, jumped in after him and lathered him up good with soap. I was so expecting a slay right then and there but he laughed and gave me a special quest. Was FUN char!
HBwillie
Andarin Remarth, toward the end of 1.0. He was a human DK who didn't make it past 48. Thaerek, a WM, always killed me, as well as Lady Kuereni of the Knights and Phaedrous, who was played by Crypticant. I made friends with Nydedracoth of the Conclave, and Serraphine, an invoker who I later found out was Crypticant's girlfriend in real life. The only kill I remember getting was in Emerald Forest when Maruke, a human ninja Justice came to Emerald Forest to start some trouble. I kept summoning and bashing him and it worked! My first caballed character was early 2.0. Fym Fontaine, Veteran Knight faerie thief. Slirtdan handed me my *** again and again. I died to that thief more than any single character to date. Fym took his own life after Trusted Knight halfling healer Rhett Hobcaw took his. Between the two, there was my human invoker, Malifaxis. I had very few friends. Fotrop, Phoellen and Vezari were among these. I guess i just had a thing for playing gimped combos at the beginning. Grosek was my only kill with this invoker, and it was while he was fighting Tiamat. I believe I've come a long way since then...at least I hope. Mmm Coffee
Earliest I can recall is Cylandras, Elf Invoker Savant. That sounds familiar My first char was an avian necro, Zolthrix. Went Nexus but didn't really understand cabal warfare in FL or how promotions worked, etc. Eventually got ganged and moved on.
CoffeeBuzz
First char was Drudaia, savant gnome bmage back in the days of calandra, clariana, zaen, siddion, tyr, gryph He was about to be the "neutral" repsentative on the savant tri-council but con-died in some stupid way (mhordren i think, I didnt know about con-death at the time!). was disheartening
tassinvegeta
Wow, you guys are good. I can't believe some of your first characters even made pinnacle, yet alone cabals and avatars. My first character was a human warrior named Aragorn or something from lotr. But then again this was my first/second mud ever. And I had to learn everything from scratch here. Teralis
He was about to be the "neutral" repsentative on the savant tri-council but con-died in some stupid way (mhordren i think' date=' I didnt know about con-death at the time!).was disheartening[/quote'] Hmmm when was that? I remember there being only two people up for the spot Asniar played by Pali, and Trulental played by me. We had to write an essay to see who would get the seat of balance, Asniar won. Zavero
My first character was Vylstrof, undead thief. Back when healer's could gate to me and faerie fire me and I stood exactly no chance against a healer. I tried running around, but no [REMOVED!] for a certain reason, so I just ran out of [REMOVED!] and died all the time. Then I quit playing for years. crackwilly21
Rhyholaxeu Starkholm, Neutral Ogre Zerker. Was buddies with Trenchien/Kirdraxan Starkholm. Dalzame/TDP (respectively). Made it to level 41, and fell into a DEEP DEEP EXP pit.
Polk
Polk, a half-elf monk back in 1.0, probably one of the worst starting classes ever to try, I won't even play one now, because of the stances being so dependant. Never made to pinn, just a punchin bag for every new evil ranking up that came along.
Gomanhor
My very first character? I don't know, because he was a nobody. My first memorable character was an avian thief named Vivix in 1.0. Got into Hunter by stealing someone's kill; I got lucky and got the last hit in. Got my first PK on a cleric after he ran to the Citadel, recalled, ran to the Citadel, recalled, ran to the Citadel, etc... Got kicked out of Hunter and denied after I did a drop and switch for equipment. That was a big and fully deserved kick in my ***. I'm glad I've improved since Vivix.
