Tyorik
Man, some of you guys had it good. I started in 1.0 with the smartest choice of all - but by the sound of it - the most badass: A Fire Cleric. Now, granted, this was the first MUD I had ever played, so I didn't even know about the 'who' and 'look' commands, let alone how to PK. So needless to say, once someone told me how to use some of them (by going immensely out of character, but I was dense, and am glad they did), I saw [sAVANT] on the who list, and decided to read the help file. I gave a half-assed attempt at scraping together what I thought was some semblance of RP (which was utter crap), and then sent the app. 24 hours pass... I get a tell or two along the lines of; "Your message has been received. Under such poor quality and as such a waste of time to us, your misguided ways leave us no choice but to put you to rest, saving us the trouble of reversing your ignorance. As it stands, I have sent commands to the remainder of the Tower to have you killed on sight. Good day." I kinda gave up after a ninja (I think) killed me about 20 times in a row, so I never got to experience the pain of the whole group of Savants trying to condeath me. Not that I knew what that was either. I think his name was Hotohori or something.
Questioner
Wow...that musta hurt. The cabal you tried to apply into condemned you to death.
Iyorvin
Was harsh learning back in 1.0. His app sucked that bad. Just incentive to get better!

Cephirus
My first character on FL was Cephirus, but I accidently deleted him and rolled up a duergar cleric named Xavius, who happened to be the oldest living fl character ever (at least that is what I have observed, he died shortly before the pwipe over to 2.0). Teralis
Hmmm seems Risqu sounds very familiar from back in the days I played Malosos the Fear Dreadlord (undead thief) does that sound right I think I killed ya a few times and answered someof your questions back then. Just seems familiar not sure if it was you though.
elfdude
Don't remember any of my first chars but my first memorable one was Zayle who was a human warrior. Pretty much the one that I learned everything on, played him until a couple months before the end of 1.0, then someone hacked him. Was in Knight and was royal of Shaz and Val Miran back when Lethereal was around and the whole dreadlords plot was pretty big. Was involved in alot of rp, fun character. Cephirus
A little bit of both, I don't remember how many hours I had logged into him, I can guaranty that it was well over 500. As for time included when I was not logged in, because I did take some breaks from him for short periods, he lived from two months after the mud was offically open to just before conclave was dissolved. Ex-D&Der
My first character was a half-elf ranger named Celestion, which was a name I used for a magic user-fighter from D&D. I thought I would focus on using a dagger, since I figured it was smart to use something other than a sword. Got killed twice by Abacien, complained to the IMMs, and shortly after Abacien got ordered to rank up. Didn't know about red potions to cure blindness so took a lot of deaths to shamans. Grouped with Polk, heh, also Epurican. Got blackjacked by Dobson, IIRC. Had a total of 1/3 of a PK when Abacien attacked our group in Marak. Actually tried to get into Knight. Made it to level 49. Celerity
First character that I remember was a half-elf ninja named Casish. Made it rank 38 wayyy back in early 1.0 (right after beta--I was new to this kind of MUD, I didn't come from AR or anything like that). After that I made a half-elf monk named Cyerea?(I forgot name..!!)..she made it rank 42 but didn't get much further. After that I made Dedric, a lawful fire giant warrior (nobody in those days made fire giants, much less warriors, much less a lawful one--but being clueless as I was, I just did). I remember getting smoked by Yekosavik at the pit in Val Miran and basically getting killed a lot. I even forgot to log off sometimes when I left the computer, so I'm sure I took a good 4 deaths from hunger/thirst (damned where trigger) one christmas when I left! But for some reason Streantian asked me to train and then join Justice(cabals? what are those??) (after watching me try to train for a few minutes, he gave up on that and just let me in) But after taking a good 40 deaths from Sirant's old conclave monk (I've blocked the name from my memory--ok maybe not Rhovhard), Streantian's Delvyn and Drendyn, and of course some assassinates (justices stood in CS back then, and had NO assassination protection), my skills improved a bit and I ended up lasting well over 1000 hours and made my mark in the game as the first decent fire giant and notable justice! Then I condied. Damn teleporting savant invokers that watched ICQ to see you log on. I still hold a grudge..grr.
Zrothum
ICQ...hah. That alone brings back memories.
Deykari
Bah. I wish I got better after my first few chars. I hate all you people who just came here with no MUD-ding experience, rolled a handful of chars and then started dishing it out in spades. I remember some of these chars. Was there a Pwipe from 2.0 to 3.0 or was it just from 1.0 to 2.0? And what event marked the change from 2 to 3? Dey
Lexi
There was no pwipe from 2.0 to 3.0. I think the clan introduction marked the change from 2.0 to 3.0. There was a lack of dedication from the members of various cabals, because it was so easy to get in.
The Forsaken
First FL char? A thief, 1.0, never got past level 35 I think...but I did find a crucial bug that envenomed barrels could be fed to people that followed you....and stacked....man...did I catch hell over that. "Hey mister decked 50 warrior! Follow me! I found something awesome!" Take a few steps....::feed decked 50 warrior barrel:: Man....took em out QUICK...and a new set of equip. Didn't take to long before I had no arms and legs though.

Suddenly I realize a lot of things back then when looking at the HP. *laugh* And the small symbol on the left side of the menu-bar indicates that I was using 56k-modem. Ruindorf
I had many characters that never made it past 20 or so, but my first character to ever pinnacle was Lunima, Faerie battlemage Savant. I was leader for a while and had a lot of fun, and got my arse handed to me constantly by Maleki... fun times.
crackwilly21
I HATED Lunima...I always used to try and kill you with my fire warrior...don't remember the name...but...I HATED YOU!
Balgashang
My first char ever was a Dark-Knight named Necare, I had like a 350k exp hole with him at 34, I've never played a dark-knight past the mid thirties...I always hover around thirty, trying to convince myself to write a vampire app, then never actually do it, and delete, and start the process over again. CruelEdict
Lunima, eh? Lunima opens the tome and begins to chant a soft incantation. An earth golem begins to glow with a soft white light. Lunima says 'I will name this being, Octamaton.' Lunima waves his tiny hands in a quick and primal fashion as he continues his in cantation. An earth golem begins to shake violently as he is encompassed in swirling magic. Lunima points at the golem and with a silent nod finishes the enchantment. The ground grows still at Lunima's feet. An earth golem loses his mystical glow, stops shaking, and falls to the ground w ith a clamarous thud. You gasp in astonishment. An earth golem goes to sleep. Lunima looks quite drained as he sits on the earth and in a whisper begins to te ll you something. Lunima says 'According to the tome, he will wake in a few hours, a being free of will. His life force, although granted by the vortex, needs naught to continue . And with this deed, my time is complete.' Lunima rises to his feet. Lunima utters a brief incantation. Lunima is encompassed with a glowing light, and in a quick thunderous burst, he is gone. I have an entire log of your last moments as Lunima. Hard to believe I still have logs that old! October 2001 was when I last viewed it! Sheesh. I had many characters that never made it past 20 or so' date=' but my first character to ever pinnacle was Lunima, Faerie battlemage Savant. I was leader for a while and had a lot of fun, and got my arse handed to me constantly by Maleki... fun times.[/quote']
