Hardly. Only if do not have mal saves. I have been sleeped and escaped with just a curse or less.

It's all about options.

You can chose to pump hit/dam to kill the necro fast.

Or you can chose to have saves and kill it slower.

Well I, knower first hand alot of the bitching came from a person who kept going ooc on me in game. I was told god knows how many times how I could never best him if I could not hypnotize him. Truth is people who can't get around sleep are just being lazy. One of the people who complained about hypno was a ninja. Define irony.

Adding a timer to sleep/hypno won't affect (and would not have affected sulphax) me, but I dislike that this change was brought on by complaints that stem from not preparing. Soon lag is going to have a cap, hit/dam restricted, and all manner of changes brought out from complaining.

My gripe is that it takes NO SKILL whatsoever to spam bash/rush/thrust/tackle on someone that you outgear and is pretty detrimental to not just the balance @ 50 but the integrity of the game.

Luckily the IMMs are discussing a way to deal with and hopefully in the next wave of changes we see some adjusments :)

The only lag I had trouble with was trample. I cannot remember in the last five years

getting locked by anything besides trample. Anything else was my fault.

Saying a skill requires no skill is a bit off too. Dispel hellstream takes no skill, sleep mal as a necro takes no skill, blackjak backstab takes no skill, rage use requires no skill. The list goes on.

Re F0xx: we don't put in changes just bc someone complains about something.

firey arrows: was changed bc ferals should not be able to touch burning arrows

Bardiche: was brought in to strengthen serks. Won't work if none are available bc battlemages dance them. This was never the intended use. There were no complaints about this either.

long time lag log: is certainly on our to do list.

Sleep timer: put in not bc of complaints but bc it is no fun to be kept out of the game for long amounts of time bc someone can cast this on you over and over and over. Putting the first sleep / hyp on has just the same chances as before.

Im a little confused with the sleep thing. Obviously means there is an hour timer between when it wears off and when it can be cast on someone again? But also means you cannot flee and reattempt a sleep attempt if it fails?

Regarding lag locks, I've never been lag locked start to finish (I lie, once I got lag locked for 12 rounds by a green dragon - enough for that pesky falcon druid to thunderstorm my arse to death), getting stuck has required me making a bad decision or $*(!ing up. I usually employee absolutely everything at my disposal to not get lag locked though, if you know the technicalities there are a number of things that help your situation. I've had some pretty close calls against giant crusaders.

There are two other qclasses that are happy to spam 'sleep like' abilities as well. I can't say I feel sorry for them ;)

The 'usual' method still works - so more than likely this will make a few people lazy/careless and you'll be able to kill them. Does that make it a 'power up' for the psi's? :P

Yay! I always felt this was a problem. During my time as Serin, was fully bash locked from full health to dead many times.

A very good example by Khant: flee, enter, bash bash bash bash....

You are stuck fighting a very healthy charmed mob and unable to do anything about it but die.

I've had upwards to about 500ac on average AND used venom sacks to try and stay alive.

You need to get out more. The foundation of the mud was set to lag. The creation of this brand of code was set to lag.

Actually, when talking about sleep/hypnosis change, the way it is changed hurts only necromancers right now.

The certain Qclasses can still keep you asleep for a year, since the duration of the hypnosis is longer than 1 tick and they are much more reliable than the necro sleep.

Was that the intent of the change?
