Here is my latest bow build:

http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgEBAdwCcQPGBLMFLQYOCfYOPBJpFE0UUhRxFSAXHBkuGmwb-h2-I6MkiyWtJd8n1SftKLUpLilPKk0yCTJ-Mok26DpSPQ8_J0CgQapHflBQVElWBFfiWGNYr1ltXPRdAF8_X5hgS2CIYVJj_WebZ-JodGz2bqpxeXKpc-F07XfleA1673y7fNmC5ITZhmCKr4zPkBGUoJ2un8uiAKQZpj6pbqvFrKquk7Xyud2-ir6nxFjE9sWKxtjLmNSP1SzYTdpi3sbfv-Qi51LqYuw47w7vTvAf8i_2SPcy94j46_0L

The main attack is swapped out with Burning arrow linked to elemental proliferation, poison arrow is secondary attack. This provides two stackable sources of AoE DoT damage, while burning arrow itself provides excellent single target DPS. I picked up several +elemental damage nodes as well as every extended debuff and skill duration node on the board. Blood magic feeds the skills. Resolute technique ensures every attack hits, at the cost of critical hits which have no affect on DoT damage anyways.

Defense comes from massive health/regen. This build picks up every single regen node on the board, resulting in a total regen of 7.4%. This is on top of the already large health pool, resulting in extreme durability and near infinite spammability of my skills. I picked up a couple of +resist and +armor nodes, but much fewer total than my previous builds. They are largely irrelevant in the face of health/regen, and can be augmented with equipment if needed. I also picked up stun immunity and a couple speed boosts for utility.

The only major problem with the build is a lack of Dexterity, which is required for bows/bow skills, but that will have to be made up through equipment as necessary. If necessary, there are a couple of +30 Dex nodes that I can pick up down the road at the cost of possibly an +elemental damage or +projectile damage node.

Critiques welcome.

edit: A popular build I've seen floated around elsewhere is based on Static Blows and lightning arrow. I was building that way to begin with, but I think Burning/Poison outclass it. For one, to pick up Static Blows, you have to invest heavily in Intelligence which offers absolutely no benefit to the build. My build allows me to boost Burning/Poison arrows while investing in Strength, the most important stat. Second, to make full use of the Shock status effect, you have to cause as much damage to the mobs as possible in those couple of seconds the effect is active, which means you are standing still for several seconds at a time. This isn't always feasible in later difficulties, especially if you are soloing and are the only target on screen for mobs to chase. DoT attacks allow me to hit and run without diminishing my damage dealing potential.

Im going to bed so I will look at your build tommorow. I will leave these words though.

As a Marauder, Fire is the way to go. BUT A Templar Lightning Arrow build will outclass it by SO much.

Lightning Arrow is IMHO the single most powerful skill IN THE GAME.

It has its pros and cons. Lightning Arrow is only as strong as it is due to stacking Shock, so your best DPS assumes you have the max stacks applied, and you are able to stand still long enough to attack for the duration of it. Burning arrow has better DPS when not factoring in status effects. Also, investing that much into Int is going to necessitate taking ES nodes and wearing armor/ES gear, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does carry a restriction. Likewise, picking up nodes to boost ES to make full use of your heavy Int investment is going to limit how much you can boost your projectile/bow attacks, since they are all on the opposite side of the board. It's certainly a viable build since so many people run it, but I think my build has the potential to at least match it, if not outclass it, while providing more defense through more health/regen and allowing you the mobility to dodge attacks without taking away from your damage output.

Built right you can stack 3-5 stacks with one hit.

My best advise is try to make a build with with milestones and first be at 60 or 70 points.

A bow build with Resolute Technique is not something I would personally do.

Why wouldn't you? Even the popular Shock bow build picks it up. Applying status effects does not benefit from critical hits, and being a build that is already low on Dex means accuracy would otherwise be an issue. At a single point, there is no reason not to pick it up.

Shock bow picks it up to compensate the lack of ability to crit.

Without crits your DPS will suffer a lot at higher ranks.

But whatever suits you best I guess. It's good to see a healthy diversity of builds.
