Attack vs a famous party leader in Bulgaria

*shrugs* I've yet to see any evidence that it wasn't real, though the reports read that it wasn't actually an assassination attempt - the weapon was a non-lethal gas pistol. You can hear a click when the trigger is pulled, and you can see a failed attempt to re-cock it and shoot again. Dogan, the speaker, resigned from his position as party chairman shortly after the attack. The attacker has a criminal record including assault. My only real curiosity is why an ethnic Turk would target the leader of the Turkish minority party... the only bit released from a letter he's supposed to have left was that he wanted to teach Dogan that he wasn't untouchable.

I'm not saying it wasn't staged, but I also see little evidence to support the claim that it was.

Lol Pali, you've done your homework :P

The reason why I posted this video without any further information, was because I wanted to see the reactions of unbiased people to it i.e. people who are completely unaware who he is and what kind of party he leads.

The politic you see in the video is the epitome of corruption in our country. Not just that, but he leads an ethnic party (and such are anti-constitutional here) that is masked as a normal one. And not just that, but a Turkish one. Considering our country has been under Turkish slavery for 500 years and only recently (135 years ago) it has become self-governing (if that can even be said), it is quite a sensible subject.

Staged or not, the situation would have been extremely dangerous if that attacker didn't bear a Turkish name, but a traditional one.

That being said, everything Pali said is true. He just missed the fact that the attacker not only used a gas pistol, but the bullets in the gun were signal ones (such that produce just noise).

Well, my first impression was that people on your country are very rude.

The guy is in the ground secured, and people come out of nowhere to pound on him. Even an old guy.

I also learned that Bulgaria is in the UE, never knew about it.
