Ellwyn
Finally giving up on this one. People recommended me this class as "high survivability" and good for new players. Tried so hard to love her, but never really liked clerics from the get go. Lesson of the day, fire giant mage is not for the feint of heart. Always short on mana, 150+ hours spent mastering my spells, ice vulnerability, and the high strength didn't really factor in as much as I thought it would. Invqda/Xesphusi - Thanks for the company. Was fun while it lasted. Brehan - To the person who gave me so many tips early on, I was really hoping to produce for you. Sorry that I fell short. Knights - Thanks for handing me my behind daily. Implementor Anume Posted January 22, 2013 Implementor Report Share Posted January 22, 2013 I recommend you try to stay till T. You will see a vast improvement in your ability to get the jump on people. You were/ are already a beast without it however, so best think about this again. f0xx
Ellwyn, you ****in' crazy. Starting to scare me a little there. It'll be silly to throw such a character away. I would advise you to stay till T as well.
Ellwyn
Already cabal left. It's okay though. I have another character that is equally trained and I'm enjoying the class a bit more. Just going down the list and trying them all. And yea, I may have too much time on my hands. I got laid off recently (beginning of January), so got nothing else to do. I will be touching up my resume and will hopefully be working again soon. Always short on mana, 150+ hours spent mastering my spells, ice vulnerability, and the high strength didn't really factor in as much as I thought it would.[/quote'] You got it right, fire clerics are a huge pain compared to drow/elf or even Dwarf. I don't think you were combat, which is even worse. At least did you get hold of the Solar mace or the new alternate one? A FG cleric wielding a avg 27 fire weapon with 50 dam roll is a wonder to see. As is a Devastation Werebeast zerk. Also you need to stay longer in PK. One only learns about PK if one PK's. You need to attack more random people. Most times we get stomped, but it good for learning. Being evil also aids with such. Also don't train at 30 as a giant, go to 41, and power train. It's insanely slow giants training.
f0xx
Nah, he was using the tentacle of Ctulhu, which is not a bad weapon itself, although not very suitable for the style a fire giant requires. PS. Don't fall for the Devastation Werebeast Zerk in Mya's post. It's a trap.
Ellwyn
Can't go without mastering infravision =P So the story behind that one was... I got killed in the forsaken lands by Uhnui. I tried to get to my corpse and realized I cannot see without a light. Then I really wished I had infravision and proceeded to master it to make sure I don't waste a second on the way to my corpse if it's in a no ghost area. And unfortunately never got a hold of the solar mace of equivalent. I did have 45 hit/dam at one point, but didn't see myself really doing significant melee damage. Clerics feel more like an attrition class.
Cephirus
Clerics are an attrition class, but as a FG, you can turn it from not just attrition to but leveling some serious damage. Well, I do hope you change your mind as suggested. I have played a couple of FG clerics, and am more than willing to offer more advice if you want. Just PM me! Mali
Ellwyn, how did you learn to move so fast? I have been here for around 12 years... but you chase way faster than me. Lol, I always thought this was my biggest weakness. I feel rather slow. Grunilene was actually making fun of how slow I was as he ran circles around me... literally. Some people I face are noticeably a lot faster. I'm curious myself how they escape/ re-engage me so fast. But I will share what I do in case it might provide some help to others. I use "where" to check the general direction they are running. When in closer range, I use "scan". I also use TONS of aliases using the ingame "alias" command for quicker typing. Example: "pa = co path". Edit: And sorry Tassin. Don't keep any logs. Never bothered to figure it out. I do scroll up after I die, however, and see what went wrong while i'm resting back up.
