Actually, this is as good a time as any to ask what kind of changes you all want.

I'm looking to see who wants what changed that isn't a "major overhaul". Just simple, small nitty gritties that people may not like or may want to see work better, or would like to see implemented. There's a ton of changes going in soon (when the server gets back up) and I don't mind laboring while I am twiddling my thumbs.

Give me your best shot, guys and gals.

well! bwahahahahah

I stirred up something decent this time!

Custom (imm approvable) mobs from cabal- like the knights dude-

or like the nexus dragon- like naming you dragon OnionBreath. Perhaps extend this to the Raid mobs as well? (Raging Werewolves)

ive always dreamed of a universal endgame store for caballed chars- for CP of course, in which certain mundane though useful items that are difficult to procure under certain conditions. Im sure a limit quanity cap would be involved.

ill have to have another beer to expand upon all of this, more crazy ideas to come.

Bumping a few old ideas I had on prayer.

Watcher

Suggestions when some of us envision vampires or demon hunters we may consider these ideas:

Holy water (spell that can do aff dmg, can envenom arrows or weapons with it etc)

Consecrated grounds (spell that when casted in an area makes the unnatural weaker or fight worse or lose miniscule dmg over time i.e. poison/bloodloss)

Carving Stakes or special weaponry (Definitely think we need a ray based weapon in Watcher and perhaps the ability to tailor/create a weapon for specific needs i.e. creation of a weapon similar to the clockrod.)

Acquiring special ammo for crossbows (I have the eternal hunter but can't use my own arrows in it, so no consecrated arrows from the caverns. Kinda doesn't make sense for a Stalker does it? And why fury dmg on a weapon called the Eternal Hunter?

Also I was hoping the idea of traps would've been used as the new Warder skill. Being defenders of nature I think it would've been a great compliment. I can even see it implemented for the Stalkers being the hunters of the unnatural. How many movies have you seen of them setting up traps for vampires or demons that they know are coming for them?

Also unlike other cabals this one doesn't participate in army warfare but raids. Which once they are done things go back to the way they were a few mins ago. Theirs no lasting effect for their efforts. Making it a bit pointless much less satisfying. Theirs no longer underlying goal behind it which makes Watcher seem like more of an annoyance than someone that can actually get something done.

Honestly I've been bored with my character from the beginning and have always been on the verge of deleting him or just going out and getting himself killed due to these reasons. Trying to get people involved in utilizing seeds to make something happen, the Tree of Life, Moving the Libraries around. I would like to think any of these ideas (with the exception of the Library move, which falls into a different category) can change the problem with Watcher seemingly lacking army warfare and having no lasting effect of their efforts against the Tribunal. Burning part of Val miran was great great great idea and it got alot of people involved! This is part of my idea of implementing this more lasting army warfare change. Tribunal have great rp opportunities and attract alot of attention when another one pops up possibly due to their ability to hold the world accountable for their laws which they have their own power over but Watchers don't get nearly the same attention or opportunities.

I think this cabal has the potential to be my favorite but lacks quite a few things to make them more attractive.

CALTRAP CALTRAPS

Syntax: caltrap

Ninjas have been known to hide small caltraps in their garments. These

caltraps are thrown at the feet of those whom the ninja is fighting with.

The caltraps may greatly hinder one's ability to maneuver around while in

combat and the effects generally lasts a few hours.

How it should work: What if this skill acted more like a thief trap. In the movies when ninjas use this its placed on the ground as a trap and can be used for offense or defense. It can paralyze and do a wounding affect, possibly even affect dexterity making it much more useful. Oh and it should of course ignore the flight status of the opponent like traps do.

Currently I find the skill has become much less needed after its change. Making it useful again is key to the mystique of the ninja class. Even pre-change tripping was the better option if they weren't flying, unless I knew it was going to be a long fight and running them out of moves was feasible.

Study

Was wondering what the new change was going to be regarding the study/assassinate thing. But I've the idea that study should have a timer attached to it similar to how there is a timer attached to you after battling someone and you try to go into your cabal.

How it works: You, the ninja, are trying to study a Savant in the ford while he is fighting a Warmaster. When the tick comes you get some type of a message saying 'not while he is in combat'.

However this protection should last roughly 6 ticks after a battle.

Reasoning for this: Studying someone while they are fighting someone else is cheap. The current strategy encourages people to log out or not fight cabal wars or do so in a very passive way, which I believe doesn't benefit anyone except for the ninja.

DECOY

Syntax: decoy

Speed and deception are important tools that ninjas rely on in

their profession. Under the cover of night a skilled ninja is able to

quickly dispatch a decoy confusing his enemy. When an unsuspecting foe mistakenly attacks the decoy, a small mechanism is setoff containing a

nasty surprise.

I highlighted the key words that I feel should be emphasized in a possible change.

Though the surprise factor in this skill is a constant. There is nothing speedy or quick about it.

How it should work: Currently I believe the lag should be cut down a bit so it can be used more often in life threatening or defensive situations. And as the help file states 'under the cover of night' the shorter lag should possibly be given only while the ninja is hidden.

Additional idea: Wouldn't it be interesting if somehow it would auto cast randomly upon a Vanish? Talk about an spicing things up

At the moment I believe the skill is still a little bland (even after the autoaim change). Few times have I actually truly used it as a useful skill.

None of which are a watcher' date=' and hence why it took forever. There is a reason anume is always having to beg for watchers. Simply being abrasive to the ideas is ignorant when the facts clearly point out what I'm saying. Check the numbers yourself, and then count how many /deleted upon pinn . Ask them why they deleted. I'm not argueing tribune vs the world. I'm argueing tribune vs watcher being forced enemies and pretty much 24/7 wanted until outlaw. Never buy another consumable and tell me how many fights you win, I don't care how bad *** you are.[/quote']

However, using your logic of cabal numbers, I can then represent the Savant cabal, which has suffered even more, in my opinion, over the years. Savant has an extremely hard time even taking a standard, and when melee can two round the Altar to retrieve it, it becomes a very fruitless process.

We don't have to stop there though, we can ask if the current CTF system the way we want it? Atticus stated that another cabal can simply log off to avoid losing their standard after a death, yet in my opinion, that is using OOC knowledge, and thus, denying the reward for a hard earned player kill. It's not any different than the players who sit in their cabal and log off when you come knocking on the door, unless you're a melee you won't be taking that standard during the short time frame you have.

If I could have any change right now:I would love the capture the flag system revisited. If it was up to me, I would allow the capture of flags MUCH faster, and regardless of if the enemy is on or not. The retrieval is very easy as is, and if it needs to be made easier so be it. I would have the penalties of a loss standard come back faster, and the bonuses grow faster and decrease faster. This would create a higher action packed pk battle, and make the tic tac toe pk battles that sway back and forth change considerably. We have all had battles where you make your enemy flee but we know that we have no hope of taking the standard fast enough, and have it matter, before the enemy we are going toe to toe with is coming back. Faster CTF would allow for quick back and forth exchanges, which is what CTF should be all about. I wouldn't stop at the CTF either, I'd revisit the ARMY system to have more tactics, possibly like a limited CITADEL build where a cabal could create a front line, and if it fell, the areas could be taken very quickly. For a very long time I have found our end game cabal contect extremely boring. I spend too much time idling with nothing to do unless I have armies, and armies move so slowly I soon find myself wanting to do something else more productive.

A little history. Watcher Cabal used to be called the Hunter cabal prior to the creation of the secret cabal, which has evolved to become Syndicate but went by darker names.

The Hunter cabal sought out bounties, plain and simple. Their skills were mixed, but it had more of a Watcher feel than a Syndicate feel. Syndicates first inductee, to my knowledge, was the hooded figure of Gorath. Of course, it was not Syndicate then.

Watcher was introduced a good bit later, and felt spiritually closer to Hunter than any other cabal.

I've always felt Stalker was the heart of Watcher. Warder RP seemed stretched to me. Yet Stalkers are de-facto Warders by virtue of the hard coded war with Tribunal. Very hard to Stalk when you are Warding all the time. The Watchers suffered from a poorly defined role. I get it, you hate the cities and unnatural things. Might as well roll a feral.

As a point of fact I am against hard-coded wars at all. Savants and WM's have differences in world-view, but I could imagine them united from time to time against common enemies. I'd like to see us take a step away from capture-the-flag and PK all the time. There needs to be more ways to achieve victory beyond war - diplomatic victory, economic victory, technological victory, transcendence. Yes, I've been playing Alpha Centauri.

Aside from my issues with cabal play, which you can simply PM Celerity about, I do think that Watcher needs re-defining in terms of purpose and in terms of skillset.

Plus, Monks need the option to be neutral.

Thank you very much for your time.

Insofar as suggesting small changes for big M,

A certain q-quest skill that starts with an H and ends with an S seriously needs a 1 hr timer post-effect just like strangle, blackjack, and sleep.

The mob in Xymerria that blackjacks you needs to be removed.

Shadowform/Treeform needs its PvE attributes put back in place.

Cabal and shrine locations should be randomized again.

Tribunal based skill similar to old Mysterum and Healer spell needs to be changed and/or removed.

Healers need something.

Allow characters to input rp based qrace at creation. No point making me RP to be a Troll from an Ogre build. Imm moderation can sort these out, like names, when they are abused. It is disheartening to apply and wait and annoying to play a faerie when you are really a sprite.

If we keep full loot of Outlaws, make it AFTER execution, not before. They should be able to escape with their stuff if busted out.

Remove super strong Val Miran Tribunal MOB in her corner near the jail.

Restore Cryptican'ts sex-based emotes.

Remove bug that allows creation of double-socketed items through use of cleric's bless.

Quadruple the cost of life insurance or remove entirely.

Re-build mud school.

Allow an area for non-caballed players to recieve access to cabal-based services with gold such as binding and locating items.

Allow build as you go with tools like in Minecraft. Make players work for tools and track changes.

I also like Celerity's idea of naming groups.

Create Group 'Crystalmir Pirates'

Invite Celerity

You have invited celerity to join Crystalmir Pirates.

etc.

Give married characters skills, like creating a child mob in a protected zone. They then have to attend to the mob by feeding it different things and watching it grow, ala nintendogs/virtual pet.
