I'm sorry it has taken so long to give you guys an update. At this point, we've nothing more to share. The guy who is DDoSing our server has nearly 3000+ IPs/bots he's using to ping us, now, effectively overwhelming our new server.

Whoever this is, they've got some money to do what they want with a botnet. And they're steadfast in bringing us down. We're still working hard (another 3am night for me, I'm sure) to bring back the MUD that we all love.

Stay tuned fellas and gals.

As far as I know, for the last 4 months, no one has been banned or "overly punished" in game.

Not sure what this could be, but it definitely is not retaliation because of being banned or being punished in game.

I am just baffled that someone would waste money to attack a FREE game like this, revenge or not, if I spent that money on a botnet, I can think of at least ten other things I would do with it. To be honest, I would be okay with registered ip idea just to get the game going. Yes it would make it more difficult for new players to come play, but if we use that for a month or so, perhaps we can make Tina find something else to try and wreck.

It doesn't cost money to ddos, just a little time to get host computers. All those ****ty emails that spam your entire address book, then your buddies address book and so on until a thousand computers get infected. Its like a starfish multiplying.
