Congratulations to the players of Lyria and Myria for discovering the next great leap forward in death-dealing technology!

The Iceborn Boomstick fires lead balls with great velocity by virtue of a controlled explosion to create fist-sized holes in... whatever you want fist-sized holes in, I suppose. But be warned, the explosions can be... volatile if used improperly.

Stay tuned for Archimus' next great idea!

Ladies and gentlemen.

Archimus would like to apologize for his recent silence. He was involved in some important research; research of a sensitive nature, which the halfling mayor would like to keep quiet. Because it involves.. sensitive... materials of a... sensitive nature which... are.. inadequately proportioned...?

Regardless, the matter has been concluded, and as such Archimus is ready to return to the Q-A in search of more ground-breaking discoveries! Please take a look at the second post on the first page for notes on the most recent conundrum.

Possibly the most frustrating thing about these is not having a 50 that can buy the 1 item that damn near everything needs. The item has no combat value whatsoever, so my hypothesis is that whoever discovers the item has their level attributed to it.

Blast Salt: Discovered by Arthryn (50) and Lyria (30). Arthryn most likely figured it out first, so it became a level 50 item, and the bug was fixed so that two people couldnt discover the same item.

Lyria's Stump: Lyria (30). Level 30 Item.

an Iceborn Boomstick: Lyria told Myria (50) how to make it (because of not being able to buy blast salt). It is a level 50 item.

This is a bit of a deterrence for anyone that is not at 50 to participate in the AAAA, and it seems unreasonable. I suggest making the non-combat items not require such a high level. Maybe that will lead to more people interested.

I keep meaning to change this for non-combart items. It's my bad, shouldn't be a problem for the item in question any longer.

This is a reminder to all prospective inventors; Archimus' latest research material is still available, and the latest Q-A project still a mystery!

Be the first to dsicover it's secrets, and have your name forever affixed to a part of Aabahran history (Like the Iceborn Boomstick!).

Archimus latest puzzle is still waiting to be solved. As a reminder to all potential discoverers, his notes are reproduced below:

==================================================================

Current Invention (7-11-2013) - ???

vpjzq.jpg

Name: Rastus deFraux

Age: Approx. 215

Race: Elf

TOD: Unknown, Approx. four days

Condition: Victim was delivered in an advanced state of decomposition. It is clear the body had been left exposed for some time. Reports indicate that the surrounding environment where the body was found had experienced some trauma, assumably by small blunt objects. The state of the body confirms this suspicion, having been perforated in dozens of places by what appear to be small metal balls.

Items this small must have been propelled with great speed and force in order to have caused the extensive wounds suffered by the victim. While cause of death is determined to be massive hemorrhage, the damage to the brain, internal organs and bones was so extensive it's unlikely the victim felt anything in the few moments it took him to die.

Other findings of note; a black, powdery substance, melted copper, leather, some clockwork components were all discovered in, on or around the body. Correlation unknown.

Victim: Rastus deFraux

Race: Elf

Age: Approx 215

Condition: Deceased

Report: Eye-witness approached with location of body. Went to investigate. Found corpse and ruined area. Looks like explosion, but worse. Blood everywhere. Body ruined. Given to coroner for autopsy. Eye witness says Rastus chasing thief during incident. Heard a ticking, and music. Then boom. Arrived to find corpse. Eye-witnessed placed in to custody for further questioning.

Archimus' journal:

This fatal and fascinating contraption has had me boggled for quite some time. After several failed attempts (and costly relocations), I've managed to accrue the following tid-bits of knowledge...

-A means of transport, similar to the means by which the comman man traverses, though with it's own automotive powers. Reports claim a rushing of wind can be heard when near the object.

-Aside from the sound of howling winds, others claim music can be heard. Of course, an inanimate object cannot sing, so some contraption must be involved which produces music.

-Two other items are clearly needed, both with destructive power. I have a feeling we of the Q-A should be fairly familiar with them, considering our former experience.

Is that image supposed to be visible on a normal scale? I saved it and opened it but when I tried to zoom in it was blurred like crazy. Can it be seen somewhere in game?

edit: also im confused. Does every new invention use the parts from the previous invention?

edit: Volg, are you not allowed to say if that image is supposed to be more clearly viewable?

Is it possible to get a posting of all previous puzzles that are now solved? Like a journal you can check out of the Library or helpfiles or some such. That way we can at least have SOME idea of what's going on with these and where it's going.

Otherwise, personally, I'm totally stumped. :/

Don't forget about the Q-A! Archimus' latest invention has yet to be uncovered, and with it not only the knowledge that you were the very first, but your very own legendary copy of the item you create!
