Descriptions:

Mounted on a beast at least three times her size, the slender gnome

before you rides cloaked in burgundy robes. Her eyes, dark like ebony,

are wide and aware, darting back and forth as if greedily absorbing all before

them in the meager light of the fading sun. Beneath her cloak, her

shoulder-length blonde hair is well kempt and laced with purple and gold

ribbon. Her tanned skin is unmarked by battle scars, and her hands look

to be free of calluses - a rare sight among adventurers.

Despite her small frame, a large gnarled staff is strapped to her back,

crafted out of a cypress that has been partially fossilized. Veins of

multi-colored petrified cypress seem to glow with a bright amber orange,

magical in nature. Blue crystals are inlaid in matching silver rings on

each hand. A larger specimen of blue crystal is set in her pendant, and

seems to change appearance like a flowing, misty, milky mountain pool.

Few would likely call her pretty, yet there is an elegance about her and a

sense of mystery and danger that is hard to place. Perhaps it is the hunger

in her eyes, an expression of pleasure mixed with madness, or perhaps it is

the evil looking dagger that can be seen sheathed in her gharnizon-leather boots.

*************************************

The most striking feature of the woman before you is the color of her

eyes, blue like sapphire and shining as if the light's singular purpose was

to illuminate them. Beneath the hood of a flowing purple cloak, her

shoulder-length blonde hair has been neatly braided with red and white silk ribbons.

Despite such an innocent appearance, there is something in her expression that is

disconcerting, perhaps even cold. Much like the song of a mermaid, there is a

discordance in her beauty that can only be described as a distant, primal warning.

The nature of her mount is masked by the creature's intricate barding. Its

blue-grey tantalum armor, patterned like crystal, was expertly crafted

by one with an understanding of art as well as advanced metallurgy.

The beast stands at least six times her size. Its deep breathing, like

wind from the abyss, can be heard through the latticework of its champron.

Thanks to everyone for helping me experience this character. I don’t think I’ve had one more successful in terms of PK and the number of plots she was involved in.

Trilikuril and Chudo deserve a shoutout for getting the last couple kills on me. But honestly, Myria was lacking a clear purpose at the end and I simply do not have the time or energy to put as much as I have into this character to keep the plots and mystery going.

I apologize to any characters that quit due to Myria being mean to them or sacrificing eq – that’s the way the game can be sometimes and if I did so, it was only because I knew you were strong enough to wipe the floor with me after some tweaking. Perhaps it is wrong but that is part of the game I enjoy but I understand it can suck from the other side.

Some might say that this Psi path can be over-powered – I have to say that combined with the Savant skills, there were some Pk’s that probably were not really fair, but with the new change logs in some of that will be mitigated. It is a very strong class but only one of many, and I took my dues and paid them with some regularity. I’m estimating around 40 pkills and around 10 player deaths with 15 mobdeaths give or take during my time as an Invoker and as a Psi.

Friends: Agrinar who showed me friendship, Lyria who adopted me on this plane, Slandren, Ryvin and Rayne, Tertius!!!, Wymer, Ugrok – Momma loves you!, Zygnar, Dilorry, Brayden, Arthryn, Garacci, Azinthal, Torpol, Rathanous, Defka, The M-blademaster that engaged in epic ranking with the Iceborns, Father Barett, Sonnael, Sszthul, Gedilla, Hepheus, Maag, Vikatimees, Beria, Helzhut, and many, many others.

Respected Enemies: Dimbrik, Pepp, Uhnui, Groklin, Duplicigant, Hermie, Ryvin and Rayne, Xylth, Chudo, Ciganin, Thargis, Zoichan, Trilikuril, and many, many others.

Props to the staff for keeping it interesting.

Part II: Her Story...

Myria was an adjunct to the court of Kingdom Tarandue on a plane where gnomes ruled with wisdom. The court wizard, Morli, developed an unhealthy obsession with the King’s daughter, Princess Reegan. Knowing that a commoner – even one with great magic – could never marry into the royal family, Morli’s obsession grew and grew until the obsession became violent. A cry was heard through the kingdom and when the door was opened to the princess’s chambers, her broken body lay in a pool of blood and the wizard’s staff floated nearby. A portal was still open near the mirror on the nightstand, and Myria, an invoker of some power, entered the portal to bring justice to the wizard.

She wandered limbo for many years, always one step behind the wizard’s trail. In limbo, a feint glow in the distance marked the wizard’s path. She followed the ethereal glow until the jewel of the plane could be seen in the distance, and she stepped within. She found Aabahran.

Myria soon came to learn that the wizard had sensed her following him, and that when she entered the forsaken lands, she was trapped there. A nefarious trap indeed! The wizard’s power had grown. If she was to bring him to justice, she must grow too – she abandoned the magic of the invoker’s and began to study the very rhythm of the planes, seeking to gain access to the core of the machine that lay beneath each plane and that regulated their movements through limbo. In her journey, she discovered the powers of kinesis, and began to manipulate the world around her with a dual purpose – to overpower Morli, and to return back home.

But the wizard had many names, and here he had taken one more sinister – that of Morlhach. The story of Morlhach tells of a time when his soul was ushered to the beyond – but what is not in the scrolls is that his soul was a composite of many. The creature that was once Morli the Mad Wizard had through his own obsession and desire to escape the memory of his crimes abandoned the vessel of his body and merged with a more powerful being, such that his memories and his crimes could one day be forgotten. Such beings as Morlhach wander on the fringe of the prime material worlds, accumulating the souls of the lost in the space between the planes.

Morlhach is many things to many people, but Myria could only see the facet of the breaker that was once the wicked wizard of Kingom Tarandue.

For a time she could not escape. She took the council of the savage groups that wandered the Forsaken Lands. The elves, most notably, offered some consolation – even if she could not return home, she may shape this world to mirror her own. Single-mindedly, she began to try to manipulate the lands, attempting to set it to a time when the sky was not a prison, and the portal to the Kingdom may be opened at will. Her efforts in the SAVANT tower and the other factions were for this purpose only.

Being of alien origin, and not invested in this world, Myria could not understand nor relate to those around her. In time, once she learned of the significance of this prime material plane to the others – like a sun with its satellite planets – she found that others were indeed significant to her mission and to her emotions. She grew closer to the strange inhabitants of the forsaken lands – and this may have ultimately led to her failure.

Morlhach says 'What is there, is not what is here. I will return one day Myria. You will see.'

Morlhach says 'And it will be to the displeasure of you, and your king.’

With great focus, Myria closes her eyes. Beads of perspiration form on her head. An appropriately gnome-sized portal opens just next to her tiny feet.

The air around you sparks in protest as a portal to another realm is opened.

You hear the gnome, Myria, yell in joy as she jumps in. Never to return.

Myria says 'WHHOOOOOOAOAAAOAAAAA!'

As fast as it opened, the portal bends in on itself and disappears with a resounding ZRWAAHNNNG.

[edited for goodbye echoes.]

I'm just going to say I thoroughly enjoyed your character. I was there from when you were level 15 until the very moment you very disappointedly deleted. Ntm you named 3 of my chars;).

I'm very happy that you remember our little time between you and Agrinar also:D .

I was really hoping I could see what you had in store with everything I had planned for you, but now I have a lot or reworking to do. I just hope that you roll another character and come back just as strong!

I have interacted with Myria across a few characters. Never fought. but two thumbs up for rp. I believe many will never know how much you have impacted many plots and everyday life in the lands of Aabahran. Myria had a true sense of adventure and was always getting into something. You may be at fault for the anger of many, but have made everyone smile atleast once. Any character that leaves a lasting impression, is definitely commendable. Well Done.

Unfortunately, I feel as though you fell short of your potential. I had some really good interactions with you, but the amount of negative reactions was far my abundant. It seemed at times you didn't fully care and just did things randomly without rhyme or reason. Myria was a character that was there for a lot of plots, but was not necessarily a driving force to them, where I really believe she could have been. Im glad you enjoyed her and Im glad you had fun.

I wish I could be more positive and in no way is this meant to be a flame. Constructive? I don't know. Your actions to many characters of mine and others fell below, what my personal opinion is, the standard that should be upkept by not only a Qrace, but as an Elder of a cabal.

Best of luck on your next project and I hope you learned a lot from Myria.

I really enjoyed the sessions we had, even if it didn't seem like it. You really did force me to finally succumb to your accusations that I was morli. I sure hope it was as fun to you as it was for me.

Good luck with your next.

the synergies between my characters RP and yours were spectacular, especially considering none was intended.

Your fascination with my rp was flattering.

Good luck with your next, I understand completely the frustrations that can develop.

I (mostly) hated Myria. Crazy *** **** that she was. ;-)

Spastic, paranoid, conspiracy theorist, rarely making any logical sense, pestering and passively aggressive to the point where you WANTED to kill her. But I can only imagine that was intended, and it was always an engaging experience with her.

I personally considered Myria to be LITERALLY insane. On which point, Myria was one of the best played cray-cray's I've seen. You could still interact with her, you knew what was going on (mostly) and you either accepted it, ignored her, or tried to overthrow her. The second and third options were more difficult. :P

My concern here is that the player chose not to come forward. It would seem due to a fear of negative energies. Many people didn't like Myria's actions/harshness (I think much of that revolved around saccing eq after a pkill). While getting your eq sacced, it happens and IS allowed. I hope fear of reprisal wasn't the player's reason for not coming forward.

Either way. Props on a vicious character. I liked her.

+1

I think in part it's due to posts like mine. It was hard for me to swallow the fact that a neutral aligned character was acting in what appeared to me to be completely flat out evil and malicious intentions. Perhaps the fault lies with me in not delving deeper into her RP to discover what was driving that. That's one thing I learned from Myria, she really did want to KNOW about people and their stories.

Difference of opinion, I thought she was a great character, even with her rp aside, Myria was willing to go along with everyone's rp and made the game very enjoyable. She's not the only one out there with off the wall rp. I have came across a few weird ones.

I agree, though at time she scared me.

You would catch her naked roving around the lands.

Other I thought she would split in half and spawn a demon in her place :eekg:.

She had an evil evil dark side.

hehehehe.

She was...eccentric. I don't think she overstepped her neutral bounds.

She played the line some, IMO, by what appeared to be being OBNOXIOUS to the point that OTHER people wanted to attack her, thereby giving her justification to PK them. However, that's still WELL within her ability.

I think the idea of "neutral" often holds the place in people's minds as a goodie RP with some perks vs. protection and the ability to group with baddies. I don't think that's what a neutral was ever meant to be. I think Myria did a neutral RP pretty well actually.

I have always played a neutral from the standpoint of someone who can decide, based on their rp and interactions, to slay a person or not to, for any reason. The idea is to respect balance. And establish through RP a set of standards that then are used to decide a situation.
