Cephirus
If we disallowed pings (UDP' date=' or ICMP) then the server wouldn't actively allow any connections. Thus, mud down.[/quote'] I suspected that there was a good reason why, I am just starting my networking fundamentals course so I know only enough to screw it all up
Cephirus
So if I am understanding this correctly, it is because the server essentially uses the echo command to display the text we see and interpret the game from, that you cannot simply set the firewall to block incoming echo requests? What a royal pain if that is true. Maybe, I am sure this has already been considered, the game should switch to registered IP policy for a month or two. Hopefully enough time to make whomever keeps doing it give up.
