Your Favorite Character (that you've played)

Name: Claudis Tok

Race: Stone-Giant (Ettin)

Class: Warrior

Cabal: Warmaster

Claudis was my favorite character to use in player to player interaction to date. The banter between Claudis and Tok was, I believe, a great highlight to a PK intensive game - since this guy, I have admittedly focused more on PK than RP (something I'm working on changing now that I feel I've got the ropes.) He was, in my opinion, mildly successful in the PK dept. and brought the experience I was lacking in regards to chasing, consumables, armor, race/class strategy, and class. When l let emotions get the better of me I try to think back on how calm I stayed during my time as him. It did, however, start my trend of being a reactionary RPer - that is to say, one who is not plot driven, but works to make the small interactions come to life. This style is a good facet of an overall system. That being said, I loved him for what he taught me and how, thinking back, I have come to realize that I should bring more plot driven RP (with those tasty emote/pmote/smotes I love so much) into my repertoire. /rant

I just cant pick one...top two, of equal fun would have to be Sepahoona and Valadar.

Valadar's rp was just a lot of fun, the vampire class is also amazingly immersive, and being a vampire during an event where the fountains all turned to blood and the sun was blotted out was just beyond spectacular.

Sepahoona for the sheer RP, I did more with that character RP wise than any I have ever played.

I agree with Kyz, hard to pick just one.

For RP - Achskel. You have no idea how much fun I had pretending to be insane. I first got the idea after playing Oblivion - The Shimmering Isle. There was a king named Sheogorath that was just nuts. I enjoyed that part of the game so much I carried it over to FL.

For more PK oriented RP, - Azantar. That guy scared me and I played him.

For being a Hardass - Phyrex in Tribunal and Aelrah in Knight. Both with clear lines of right and wrong, black and white. Wouldn't bend to anyone. Some of the most tense RP sessions I've had were with Geoffram and Aelrah, thinking at ANY time I was about to be booted from Knight, but knowing I couldn't deviate from my toon's RP.

Aza was some sick ****' date=' I have played some pretty vicious PK/RP oriented characters and Aza has to be one of my role models for execution and style.[/quote']

I'm interested in this. Will someone provide more specifics. I want to push into more PK, but from a stronger RP angle. I'd like to know how someone does it in a way that is remember.

I don't remember Azantar, well. I wasn't active then. Undead thief, pushed into a gateway from another realm, something about royalty and mute, or something like that?

'Mine would have to be Meeser, The Forgotten Hopeful. My first, and only, attempt at a thief. Also, my second character. I was horrible at pk, running, equipping. Haha.I tried to join knight. I was in clan hope for months and months. I remember being super scared of messanthanla (sp) a vampire. I became her informant on knight and hope activities. Made an awesome amount of gold and had some great rp moments. Never got past level 44 or 45.

I have two I guess,

Ghadryn - Because I spent a huge amount of time teaching newer players aspects of PK etc as for some reason Watcher seemed to attract them. I had a blast working with different people and watching them grow. I felt like the grand-daddy of the forest with that character!

Dumela - Because I did everything that I set out to do at the start. Be unwavering in my RP, Become a PK beast (Atleast as much as I think I could be), Get tattoo'd and become Leader of Watcher again.

Actually, I have played so many characters I actually forget them! Jesus this is one of my absolute favourites:

Bradah Blackspore - Elder in KBS with Korthian. Man those were the days (And I had enough gold/everything to have unlimited sheep fox ;)). Working so closely with a player who basically brought around a sub-cabal was mmmiiiinnnddd bloooowwwing!

Ilendriel for me. I did a better job with him of just being a person living in the world than I ever had before or have since - not a single event of his life was something I'd planned on having happen, and it took him farther than most of my characters have gone. On top of that, having a no-loss PK record on a couple-hundred hour char is also something I've only ever accomplished with him. My only regret was being forced to retire him due to being broke and having computer issues, and I've never been able to shelve a char for an extended period and really get back into the flow with them after returning.

I enjoyed my Storm Zerker turned Crusader. Not so much for being the first QClass I've ever played (though that in itself was freakin' cool), but I really enjoyed that the character felt organic.

He as a Zerker who didn't like to rage. I never used rage on him in-game, despite it being trained. It was a fun surprise to be jumped at around level 46 by a pinned caster and having the auto-rage kick-in to steal the win. I didn't even know you can auto-rage. I liked that this flaw made sense in trying to be a crusader.

I like characters that not only have very concise and well executed RP, but at the same time back up their RP goals and assume stature with unquestionable skill in the PK arena.

You will notice that with few exceptions the most memorable characters share these qualities.

Covus was definitely in the top few, had a lot of fun with him RP wise and did pretty well on the PK field.

Senrail was probably my most improved character from start to finish. I was doing rather horribly at young ranks in gladiator, but about halfway through I did a 180 and was rarely defeated after.

Brendyn was a blast, the one I had right before him was even more fun in my eyes but I can't remember the name exactly. I want to say Byrsypherus, but I may be confusing that with someone elses character, maybe bryntryst? Aulian, you prob know better than I do.

I take that back, Saulroc was my most improved character. Was around during Cariousus's terror, became Leader of Justice and even took Cariousus down on several occassions. This was the first character that I learned about conquests with because Viri dropped every possible hint without saying "SEND AN APPLICATION TITLED CONQUEST". I'd say this was the character that taught me the most about pk to turn me from a lucky pker to a skilled one. (ofcourse that skill has since faded considerably)

Byrsypherus was your dwarf before Brendyn. I like Byrs more for some reason.

Bryntryst was an Immortal from 1.0? Or was it 2.0 I cant remember. Wasn't he the one with the god aweful smell? Took over from Rotarx as nature imm maybe?

Jesus h. christ that was a long time ago. We need to get out into the sun or something.

Yeah, that's right. Byrsypherus. He was possibly my favorite. Also one of my most long lived characters. You probably liked him more because he and Dumela kinda "came to power" together. I think you may still have been trusted by the time I rage deleted him, but you were long overdue for a promotion. I had been Elder for Months and was told by the Tribunal Imm at the time that he was just waiting to see me online for the past week or two so that he could do something "special" for my Leadership promotion. Man was I pissed at myself.

I think I made you rage delete actually. (Sorry, thats so **** lol)

I even think I remember the kill, you portal'd back to the cabal and went into the nowhere room north of your cabal. I walked in and hit an amazing round with staff of storms, pets and dragon. (Gotta love that mask of discord)

no LI - Yeah, I full looted.

Cordain Nomico the Tribune of Balance, Elder of Justice A human psi during the time of Gorthae. Other than making Elder, he achieved a title and an owner only ring. Gorthae actually wanted to run the Justice cabal with a Tribunal... He wanted Murat and I to be Elders so the three of us could vote on important decisions with majority rule. He was a powerhouse that taught me a lot about playing Psi's. In the 6 months that I played that character, I only ever died twice with 75+ captures. [that's huge for a non-pk'er like me] Of course, the coming of the Dreadlords changed everything (Gorthae becoming one among them) and the pwipe followed soon after. :(

Marina Orim the Honored Child of Dymmeria, Heraldric Leader A werebeast ranger that got to live in the shadow of some of the greats. Shandronas picked Marina as his replacement, they were good friends and I got to take part in A LOT of rp. I earned everything a player could on Marina and had fun doing it. In the nearly 2 years that I played her, I had several cool titles, the only person to receive the new tattoo of Dymmeria (a scroll and quill), had several owner onlies(Marina's Memoirs and A Mother's Love), dragon for description and awarded the Spear of Courage. She was the last Leader of Herald before the pwipe.

Yeah, you were the reason for my rage delete. I was also drunk that night though and I had thought I had a delpass. I used to find it would relieve my initial anger by typing Delete, up arrow, delete, up arrow, delete about fifteen times ;) But I used to love our fights. You and atsula were the only two I remember well that gave me such good fights with Byrsypherus and Brendyn. There was also a minotaur berserker or warrior that had some nasty charge rounds...Lamak maybe? But he was short-lived in comparison to Dumela.

From what I remember, it seemed like every time I chose NOT to use LI those were the times Dumela would end up with the win. I don't think there was EVER an occasion that I defeated Dumela when you did NOT have LI. I may be wrong on that though but it sure as hell felt like it.

Byrsypherus had a nice long run though, pretty sure I had about 800 hours on him when I deleted.

As for Covus, I had over 600 hours when I accidently deleted the first Covus. i was attempting to set a delpass and somehow managed to delete instead. I had FINALLY gotten the last piece of EQ that I was seeking to have every +spell level item that would aid a shaman. I always seemed to be one item short prior to that, when I remade Covus and made up some RP about getting caught in a time warp or something like that, I never ended up completing that set of armor again. The second Covus also had over 600 hours, so combined he was my longest played character.

On a side note, current Warmaster fans, you have it Easy! Back in senrails days if you didn't have your standard you couldn't use stance or truesight. So getting the standard back was a pain! I don't think I ever quit out as senrail without it though.
