f0xx
The guy asks for a challenge, and everyone starts with the retarded PK combos. And then people claim they are here for the RP. The biggest challenge in this game is a well RPed character. Create a great RP, then pick the character that suits it best, then work towards your goals. Sound like a good start to me. Kyzarius
go for a illithid psi. Challenging rp wise, Q wise, and the psi path for them is the most difficult to pull off. Fun, unique, and allows for very creative RP freedom.
Trick
I'd say...a character that is not the "main character". Support characters are needed in all aspects and sometimes, whether they aim to or not, are often the driving force to another person's RP. This is a concept that I think is lost in a lot of people as everyone wants to be the hero or villain. That middle guy is just as important. A few names from the past come to mind when I think about those kind of characters..

The Professor
come up with an rp concept that involves a class that you've never played. if you've played them all, go for a race/class combo not known for their prowess.
Aulian
I'd say play a combat evil feral cleric with an affinity for sailing.

That is one of the most thoughtful things I've read in sometime, and not only IG but in life as well. Yeah, I'm at this point IRL. Thanks!

mya
Werewolf Berzerker Devastation/Anger Syndicate/Warmaster. Perhaps moderate, depending on how good are you getting gear after a death. Duergar Bard, the pain of the alley. Gnome Blademaster/Ranger, Giant slayer. Elven Cleric Moderate Combat, personal counselor to the new kingdom. We are lacking a goodie elven cleric. Everyone plays Storm or Dwarven even though they are "inferior". Moderate for the challenge. Who said Feral combat cleric has a good idea, but i think it's to evil. But easy to pull in the hands of a veteran, if you remember to stack AC to ~600.
