[50 Elf Bmg] <PK> [KNIGHT] (Hope [E]) (Something [E]) <NOBLE> Marquis Mordicai the

Ayroduth

Recommended Posts

Time to retire Mordicai. He has been around for a long time. Don't see myself making Leader and my play with him has not been nearly as fun. The RP going with the Corimak's has pretty much stalled itself, not anywhere close to what is was supposed to be like when Ryvin/Rayne were controlling it. I'll post my score and everything else even though I'm sure I'm naked. I believe my last death due to having to get up and answer the door, clean the house among other things. A random house showing came up. This house is for sale.

I've been in Savant twice, the second time being booted for battling the evil Savants which led to my service to Ryvin and Rayne Corimak. I then became the Advisor of House Corimak and soon joined the Knight's Castle. I was the only Sigil at the time. Managed to recruit many players into the Castle and did/tried many great things. Also, tried to temporarily take over the Corimak plot while Ryvin/Rayne were gone and the sons were not about. That was shot down by many players, therefore the plot was halted. Nothing continued until the twins came, and then I did not feel the RP was the same as before. My want to play Mordicai soon became less and less. It was my first time being an Elder of Knight and I would have loved to make Leader, but I just do not see it happening. When I was still active, I had applied for a tattoo. Never got denied or accepted, never heard a word about it. That is an extreme blower, at least deny it so I know to work harder or have me send a new application. That is all for now.

An elf, slightly taller than the average human, is within your gaze.

Beneath his gold, gem encrusted crown is a river of beautiful, white hair

hich flows together as it rustles blissfully in the wind. The wrinkled

forehead of this elf gives way to his neatly trimmed eyebrows. Sunken, deep

eyes sockets glimmer with the shine of his immaculate blue eyes. His nose

is long and points downwards, shadowing his flared nostrils. Cheek bones

flawlessly lead towards his lips, which seem pressed together. Only parts

of his large elven ears remain visible, as they are partly hidden behind the

sides of his long white beard. The bottom portion of his beard is

seperated, each seperate piece flowing over his shoulders with his other

hair. A short, petite neck leads down towards his slender torso. The

golden robes around his body part in the middle, revealing a small patch of

hair upon his chest. Remnance of multiple pouches protrude from his waist.

Long muscular, yet thin arms clutch onto a brown book. Within this book

lies his dagger, seemingly to be used as a bookmark. There seems to be

markings upon the cover of this book that are hard to make out, but the

words, 'The Way of Purity' are quite clear to read. A segmented belt keeps

his golden robe tightly secure around his waist. Most of his legs remain

hidden behind this long robe, except the scrawny ankles, and his slippers.

The slippers seem old, tattered, and destroyed for the most part.

To be fair, you've hardly been around since the Twins showed up. I've seen a lot from both of them, especially Ilthrias. Well played, none-the-less, I know you had connection issues (saw them first hand) and I saw a lot of people take advantage of that (including heavy looting) and am sorry you had to deal with that. Regardless you took most of it like a champ, good luck with your next.

I wanted to be around more. Just the way that the RP plot was going and everything else going downhill, I became very bored. I tried to do many things to spice the play up, but no one wanted to play hand in it. I'd send notes for things that multiple people could have helped in, a plot to fix a plot, but yet I get zero responses. Really my first Elder where I had to make a bunch of decisions and everyone was bitching. Some want this, some want that. I do this, everyone says they wanted the other thing all of a sudden. It was just a huge headache I was dealing with. I wanted to be a huge part of the Corimak plot, but as I said, it was not nearly the same as it once was. Maybe had I made Leader, I would've stuck around balls to the wall until condeath, but it just did not feel like it was coming. I had many apps sent and many notes sent entailing things that we couldve done. No one wanted to reply to me. I felt like I was in an evil cabal almost because it felt like Rilithin was trying to under mind Mordicai. Anyways, 466 hours of play and I got Elder at least while being caballed three times.

Also, I tried for psionicist twice and failed twice. Also was told I would not be given another chance at it. That was also a bummer since his whole RP from the git go was to be a psionicist. Oh well, more room for another Elder Knight now.

Overall, a pretty solid character in both RP and PK. You spent a lot of time with a lot of different characters through out the 466 hours of game play and I hope you enjoyed every last hour. During my time as Courael we had a few ups and downs and some differing opinions. Moridica did a lot of things that Courael flat out disagreed with, thought was wrong of a Knight/Sigil, and didn't show the Commandments to the fullest. BUT! You were dependable, for the most part, to put everything into any task that we decided was for the betterment of the Castle.

As a player, I think you have a lot to learn about RP. You're advancing significantly, but I don't think you're at the caliber that a Leader should be, though there have been past Leaders that I don't think made the cut, but were promoted anyways. So, take that how you will.

As far as the tattoo, i believe that was more in part to the fact that the IMMs were almost giving them away for a brief time and had to kinda pull on the reins a bit. Nothing against you per se, but more of just bad timing. Had you put more effort into other than just an application, you might have found some success there.

I think you wanted to accomplish and do TOO many things on the character. What I mean by that is you were sporadic. One day it was tattoo, the next it was Noble, then you wanted Leader. It just seemed as though nothing was the MAIN focus.

The MAIN thing about Mordicai that I loved was his willingness to help just about everyone in any kind of trip. If you were a goody, you could depend on Mordicai to travel with you. The MAIN thing I didn't like was your character's attitude towards things. Consistency was hard to find. At times when I thought you were on my side 100%, you weren't. On subjects that you might have been against in the past, you were suddenly all for it.

My biggest suggestion? Flesh out the character personality a bit more so that when topics arise, you know how the character would respond and not how Joseph would respond.

Maybe had I made Leader, I would've stuck around balls to the wall until condeath, but it just did not feel like it was coming.

That comment alone proves why you didn't deserve Leader. Sorry, bud.

Good luck on your future projects, my dude.

EDIT: Also, this constructive criticism isn't JUST for you, but all of us. Myself included.

One thing I did notice with Mordicai and Alderick is what Trick mentioned, they seemed to flip flop on their support which may have been a factor towards not getting L and bred tension within the Cabal, I know that was Kripffip's main issue with Alderick. None the less, I think you left both too early and could have gone epic status with Mordicai.

OMG I CAN"T BELIEVE YOU DELETED. I had this huge note made up for a major RP plot I needed mordicai involved in. Guess I"ll just delete......it revolved entirely around you character. I guess live and learn, I shouldn't make a character that revolved around one individual thing :(

Hey, hey, hey! I do all the whining in the General Discussion about deleting characters! I have never had an Elder! Iyorvin NEVER rolls characters based around mine! Trick never gives me good critical feedback! I don't have a tattoo! I don't even have time to play right now! But, I did have time to pull this awesome photo from Facebook. ;)

You need to separate yourself and your OOC stuff from your characters.

Most of my impressions of Mordicai were from interactions made 3 years ago, back when he was Savant, but since you had basically 2 stages with him, back then and now, I wont talk much about the more recent Mordicai. It is the same character though, so I see nothing wrong talking about the old Mordicai in this thread, especially considering you never made a deletion thread.

I've made one or two prayer posts about the old one. (Links for IMMs so they don't think I am pulling stuff out of my arse).

I hope you've improved over him, and I hope you keep improving.

As to the tattoo app, or apps in general.

If you get no outright reject, that usually means we will consider it. If you do not get an approve very soon after submitting the app, it usually means that we are not yet certain your character deserves it and watch your actions. It can go both ways from there.

If you do not wish to wait, you can always ask on prayer, or an Imm in game if the app is still in or what you should do.

Tattoo = you impersonate all your religion stands for. Mordicai never seemed a very religious type to me, so we were basically waiting for you to do something to show you are.

Sometimes, not the case here, an app also drops through our radar (or a prayer post) so it is usually a good idea to ask after a week or two of hearing nothing what's going on (or bump a prayer post after 2 - 4 days if you got no reply by then).

Does asking on prayer too soon hamper your chances of getting it because you are "pressuring" the Staff to make a decision?

@Trick:

I'd give it 10 days without a response before saying anything. You can ask sooner than that, and they'll respond, but that's the time I've read the staff asks for.

Either way, the staff here are ridiculously accommodating and patient. I've never had them be passive aggressive or have any of my prayer forum activity negatively impact my IG activity. I think you'd be fine.

Sad to see you go, I liked Mordicai. Props for a good character, and good luck on your next.

Regarding leader though, that's a promotion that should take a while to get. I believe most of the current/recent leaders had to wait a good while before getting that promotion. Mordicai was just made Elder not that long ago.

As far as Mordicai is concerned, I think he had a lot of potential and really could have been the sort of character that made the Hall of Fame. Having only rp'd with you... I can remember being very impressed when we first met. All the motes you did with your Crown speaking for you and having a personality of it's own... very cool and well thought out... though, over the next few months you played him... I could tell you were losing interest. Mordicai stopped being 3 dimensional, from my perspective, and it showed that you were losing your will to play him. sometimes that happens and that is one of those times where you have to decide if you should step away for a while or retire the character. if you no longer enjoyed portraying Mordicai, then you did the right thing. I wish you all the best with your next, but would like to suggest you make a character that doesn't need a Cabal/Tattoo/Title/etc. to be validated. make something that you can enjoy solely for the rp and/or pk (if that's what you're into). I know a lot of us have grand ideas and feel like there isn't a point if we don't get what we want... I've come to realize that you really can achieve what you want in FL so long as you're willing to work at it and stay committed. it really boils down to what it's worth... in some regard I think certain aspects of Aabahran should be easier to obtain, while I feel others should be as difficult as they are...

having had several characters with tattoo's. I can easily say it has been one of the more difficult things to achieve and rightly so. it really is something that you're going to find on an rp'r. we're not talking just good rp; we're talking good, consistent and exhibits some aspect of your faith. with my current character, it actually took longer to get the tattoo after I was approved. which goes to show that timing really is a factor in how long you're going to have to wait. if you're going to send in an app, you would be well advised to do so when you know you can devote a good portion of time toward the game... 3 or 4 days of active play time with considerable rp is usually a good way of showing the Imm's that you're capable... after that, all you need is a little patience. (que song) :D

Re Trick: it always depends on what the app is about and HOW you ask. If it is in a demanding, impolite way it will lessen your chances, else it will not.

As to tattoo, even if you get a reject here, this is not something you can't apply again at a later time. You may even get it without applying for it again, if we think the character now examplifies their god's religion.

I'd say about 3/4ths of tattos are given though they are not applied for.

If your only rp interaction is sending a tattoo app, it will most likely not work out for you.
