Valforian
I was just wondering while looking at who lists for the past few weeks and noticed I have yet to remember seeing one minotaur... I was wondering if they are gimped or a reason as to which no one plays them?
Acerbity
Large *** exp penalty. Hardly anyone wants to go through the hassle of ranking for more than half of their character's life.
Marc
yet there seems to be little shortage of elf paladins... So your theory doesn't really hold up
mya
Are you kidding ? There are 2 to 3 elven paladins. Hum, perhaps i should roll one. Most of them go human. And no Minotaurs are not gimped, quite the oposite. They are quite bonused, its just that they can only be 2 classes, and neutrals. So most people just go evil ogre berserker. Deykari
Haven't seen an Ogre Zerk in a long time. Minotaurs make very good Zerks. There have been a few pinned minotaurs about dotted about over the recent, Statham, Caloth? The sudden influx of Paladins in my opinion, could be due to Behren's unveiling of the soon-to-come changes to Paladins/Dark-Knights, so people are wanting to roll a character ready for when they come. Mattamue
The mino zerk is hard because you don't get the evil/good vs good/evil mob exp bonus that you get with elf paladin or drow dkn. You pay for that with prot good/evil though, so..
Fiere
I had/have a mino zerk, and the killer thing wouldn't be ranking, I'd say, but pk range. No deaths until like 43 or so, then two in the space of an hour, both from 50's. That's what sucks. Those last ranks are killer.
Iyorvin
Mino zerk is one of the worst things to rank. Highest neutral exp pen, hardest to pin because you get no bonus exp from align mobs, AND when picking your perk adven looks nice but there are others that are needed. Then when you get your zerk, you look over FL's history and you can't remember a single zerk who stood out for a long period of time. Kentry was modified by immortals, so although he was good, he can't be compared to regular zerks. Srunc was the best I've seen/fought against in all the time I've been here, and he didn't last THAT long to be a huge influencing character. Reminds me of that log with all oblits/disints of Aciati vs Srunc though. Good times. Back to the point though, warrior minotaur isn't as good as another neutral pick, and the zerks themselves have never really impressed anyone. I would love to see minotaurs opened to evil align as well, then we would deffinatly see more of them.
Deykari
Zerk has to be the most fun class I've played ever at pinn, and I'd love to roll another (not Undead this time ). I'd love to see more about, or see one really rock the dancefloor. Minotaur just doesn't appeal to me though, even though they can be good zerks. Vote No For Evil Minotaurs....| \------------------------------/ ..................|| ..................|| ..................|| ..................|| .................. I would say no, they are to powerfull for being evil ones. And they are beasts, neither evil nor good. You just want them to be evil for PK power/join uber cabal . Kentry was modified by immortals, so although he was good, he can't be compared to regular zerks. [/quote'] A quick note. Kentry was GIMPED by the immortals by his modification. His pk record was worse after being modified for an RP plot. There were some great zerks. Crypticant's zerk. Behren's human and his ogre zerk. Kalug's zerk. Gylrad. I think the problem is the players of zerks and not the class itself. Although I agree that perhaps it is harder to play a sucessful zerk post 1.0. As to evil minotaur zerks, I like the sound of the RP. Game mechanics wise, I am not sure. I will leave that one up to Behrens.
Iyorvin
Evil mino's being more powerful? If anything an evil is less powerful then a neutral. At any rate, minotaurs are really naturally evil, or at least in stories you always see them aiding the evil side.
Iyorvin
Malch he was gimped AFTER he was buffed. He admitted himself it wasn't his fault the imms gave him uber godly skills. And to Kentry, as I know he is still here, I am not knocking on your skills bro, you know you have them, but I'm saying he can't be considered because well, frankly two ages ago things were alot different. Now there are new classes, items, paths, that all change the way zerks have to interact. Peace.
ajwetton
It depends on what fantasy series your reading. I've read Dragonlance books where there were good Minotaurs, as well as in other books that was just the first series that came to mind. But there are good as well as evil and neutral Minotaurs. I think if you want an evil Minotaur then roll a neutral and apply if its worthy i'm sure they'd approve, after all we've had a neutral cleric in past and other such re-aligns. Sirax
Rp wise makes more sense them being evil. Would be good if they even had whole spectrum of alignments, ogres do and ogres are stronger and more agile aswell as having greater intelligence, fair enough they have magic vul which can be hard, but they get hugh con and healing and every now and then they ignore the pain plus way less exp pen. Would giving them choice of other classes make stone, storm, fire giants redundant? I would like to think not, but not sure. Theres an RP plot for you Malc, make every player have to control a minotaur, lob them on a remote island, stick half on one side, half on another and let them all batter crap out of each other. Call it something original like the minotaur wars and there you go, you can then write up a history how they had bloody battles, blah blah blah and lo and behold minotaurs now can choose any path. Its genius  PS anyone ever see the ancient film Sinbad and the eye of the tiger (think thats its name) see the metal minotaur in that, thats some scary dude.
