mya
Post the log. Ice spells have always been harder. Traditionally in FL they have been harder to save, but deal less damage than fire spells. It's actually possible to plot the critical amount of saves at which casting Iceball deals more damage than Fireball on average. While this is an extremely interesting research subject, the fact that you can't accurately know your opponents saves means that empirical experience and field instinct will serve you better on this decision. If you remenber your D&D, then you will notice a interesting thing. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/iceStorm.htm Icestorm Saving Throw is None FL Icestorm definitively has a save for ice storm, it just isn't very favorable for the receiving subject even in the case of a save. TLDR version: Icestorm saves for a lot less that most spells.
The-Nameless
Mya, I truly hope that you do not work in a field that gives you any influence over a younger generation. The thought of you training (read warping beyond salvation) a younger generation is truly one of the scariest things I could ever imagine. FL =/= D&D
mya
FL =/= D&D I never say it is. I was (trying to) make a point on the tradition of hard saves for ice spells. And I have tutored young ones. One of the things I try to instill in them is the necessity for them to think for themselves. And to never take thing as certain just because someone says or writes it.
