FF7 for the PS3?

I will bet money that Square remakes the game at some time. It makes absolutely ZERO sense for them not to do it. You'd have to be out of your mind to not understand how much money they would make off the game. They save money by doing a new game, since the storyline and characters and all that is already there. Just redo the graphics and maybe add a couple more sidequests and maybe even another section to the storyline just to add intrique for that percentage of people who wouldn't want the game since they already know the story. There are people like me who would buy the PS3 JUST FOR that game. It makes perfect business sense for them to remake FF7

I'd buy PS3 for FF7.

Though maybe if they do remake it, they'll actually finish the game for once?

It was my first PS game, I love it. Best game ever. No game can ever top that one.

I was in blockbuster the other day, they actually made a FF7 movie. I hate to admit that i'm big enough of a dork to wanna rent it, but I am. Though only for this game.

Right after that tech-demo, they guy says that FF7 is not being remade. Look up the PS3 press conference on google video. It's about an hour and a half long I believe.

With the likes of Smash Brothers Brawl, Galaxy, Zelda, and Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii (not to mention that the Wii is $200, while the PS3 is $600+), I think Nintendo will have my money long before Sony does.

Besides... Sony "ripped off" Michael Jackson, and now Jackson is $300,000,000 in debt. Jerks.

Uh.........the Wii is focused for hitting up non gamers because it's lame' date=' cheap, and the graphics are cartoons. But hey, if that's up your ally go ahead. The PS3 will be setting a new bar for gaming.[/quote']

Actually out of the three new consoles my focus is mostly on the Wii. The controller brings a new level of interactivity. You've seen what new peripherals do for game popularity (Guitar Hero, DDR) and with the Wii now you have that built into the console. Not to mention they're releasing a regular controller too that covers the NES, SNES and N64 rereleases.

...plus... 600 DOLLARS!?!?!

For what you will be getting...I think it's fair enough., and of course you wait a little while and that price will drop. Ships out with a 60gb hardrive that will be interchangible, so that you could upgrade to a larger harddrive. BAckwards compatible with ps2 and Playstation games, and they may even make them avaiable for downlaod. They are in talks right now to redistribute old game catalogs from third party companies such as EA. But be ready for shortages of the unit...being that they only plan on shiping a million units per month, the goal being to ship six million worldwide by march 7, we don't know if the million units a month will be divided equally among the Japanese, European, and American markets. The harddrive comes with the linux operating system pre-installed.

(info from GameInformer magazine)

We are in a new era of gaming...and honestly nintendo is grasping at straws, I love nintendo...where would the gaming community be without them...but My personal opinion...is that while they will have a market, they are going to get devasted from the Xbox 360, and PS3 sales. I hope this isn't the beginning of Nintendo going the way of sega.

news about all the FF13 craze for PS3

And here is my professional opinion:

Square has wrapped up all their money and energy right now into FF13, DragonQuest, and FF7 compilation. They have never said that FF7 remake is NOT a possibility.

I forsee, after the FF13 and its triad of followers, after the FF7 Compilation is done and out. After any bugs with the PS3 system have been quenched....you WILL see a FF7 remake. It will be done before FF14.

Alright, let's put the strong points together:

Power:

PS3: Best

Wii: Worst

XBOX360: Close to PS3

Controller:

PS3: Weak Gyro, no Rumble

Wii: Strong Gyro, Rumble

XBOX360: No Gyro, Rumble(I think)

Games:

PS3: Niche games, not appealing to the broad masses(MGS4 and FFXIII excluded)

Wii: Broad games, much interactivity.

XBOX360: Gamer games, with some "broad" games, such as Halo and Madden

Price:

PS3: 500 for cheap, 600 for expensive.(as if 500 is CHEAP)

Wii: 250 or so.

XBOX360: Will have dropped severly by then, I'd guess about 250 for cheap, 350 for expensive, tops.

Now, what's the most important of these things? Price, and games. PS3 fail on both of those.

Wii is going to sell the most, because they got games for EVERYONE there. Even hardcore nerds love Super Smash Bros, and Brawl won't be an exception.(especially now that Snake's going in it) And 500 for a sub-par console is not passable.

Honestly, I think Sony will owe Konami and Squeenix a LOT for their sales. Without FF or MGS, PS3 won't sell at all.

It's might just be me and select group of people....but I don't like the games that come out for Xbox. Sports and stuff like Halo...that crap just doesn't go for me. I love DragonQuen, Star Ocean, FF, Kingdom Hearts...stuff like that. Its just like I feel PS3 does a whole different genre of games better than anyone else....and I play those. :)

Well i know that what nintendo is doing is "innovative" and yes there are some quite addictive games that they are famous for...but let's face it...the nintendo is and always has been a gaming machine for the children. There games almost completely focus on the young age groups(Pokemon, Mario, even there once prized Zelda has taken a turn for the infantile). Of course games like Resident Evil 4, break the mold, but are the exception and never the rule. and besides you can find it in the sony market as well. The nintendo controllers, don't get me started. I hated the 64's controller and save GoldenEye it was a complete annoyance. The gamecube wasn't much better, my main beaf with it being the trigger buttons took far too long(gamewise) to push down, and they jammed far more often than any other controller i've ever used. The new controller is innovative and yes interesting, and will probably reach a broader fan base than either of the other two systems, but the real gamer, will feel somwhat betrayed by this new thingy they are trying to pawn off as a controller.

As for Xbox360, the much anticipated New "halo" has been scrapped. they will be feeding us something "halo-like", but for those of you who played the originals this will not cut it. I want to know what happens to characters...and what about the half a dozen other halos they found at the end of halo 2??? Add to that the compatability issues with xbox games being able to be played with the xbox360 and it's just not worth it. Other than the sports titles that appear on the Xbox let's face it...it's FOR first person shooters. Those are the games that do well on the system, and yes they do them well but you can find similar titles with sony.

Now what you said of sony...way off. Think about it...what console has games for every age group and levels of maturity? What console has sports titles, FPS's, RTS's, RPG's, action platformers, hack and slash masterpeices, puzzlegames, Survival horror, mystery style action games...and so, so much more. Yep that's right Sony...not Nintendo, not Xbox.

Now i'm not saying my logic is flawless, and i'm not saying that Nintendo will fail, But just look at the recent history...Sony dominates, let us pray it stays that way.

"Nintendo is only for kids" is wrong. Just because they have less violent games than other publishers doesn't mean they are only for children. It just means they are more children-friendly, and it CERTAINLY doesn't mean that the games aren't good.

I never said that it was ONLY for kids. And yes some of those games are fun...but it's nothing you can't find with Sony, plus Sony has all the other stuff too. So no matter what kind of game yer looking for you'll be able to find it with sony. I currently own the original Xbox, the Playstation 2, and the Gamecube, cus I hate being left out when a "this console only game" comes out. But I've found that when buying for the kids i can always count on Nintendo to hand me something addicting enough to temporarily "parent" the children while I'm catching a break, and I can count on never having to watch the game for content or see if they've switched out games for something more like what the grown-ups play. So I guess "family-oriented" would be a better Label. But that still doesn't change the fact that I can't get my GTA fix with Nintendo......

The main thing I was trying to get at is Sony has it all...not just some.
