FF7 for the PS3?

I'm with Melee. I'm a cheap person, so I always get games and game systems a couple years after everyone else, but even so...Nintend, I must say, does not have a good record for RPG's, I.E. FF style. Sure, Zelda...is barely an RPG. Ever heard of Quest 64? The WORST rpg I've ever played, bar none. *shudder* And Sony's got that, plus so much more. Mmmm....

Meleecrazy, old PS2 and PS1 had a broad range of games, but the matter of fact is, PS3 does not.

How about some links to a forum infested with pretty much Sony Fanboys all over:

PS3 doesn't have much of a future, and with that pricerange, it's not gonna sell good for casual gamers.

For what you will be getting...I think it's fair enough., and of course you wait a little while and that price will drop. Ships out with a 60gb hardrive that will be interchangible, so that you could upgrade to a larger harddrive. BAckwards compatible with ps2 and Playstation games, and they may even make them avaiable for downlaod. They are in talks right now to redistribute old game catalogs from third party companies such as EA. But be ready for shortages of the unit...being that they only plan on shiping a million units per month, the goal being to ship six million worldwide by march 7, we don't know if the million units a month will be divided equally among the Japanese, European, and American markets. The harddrive comes with the linux operating system pre-installed.

(info from GameInformer magazine)

We are in a new era of gaming...and honestly nintendo is grasping at straws, I love nintendo...where would the gaming community be without them...but My personal opinion...is that while they will have a market, they are going to get devasted from the Xbox 360, and PS3 sales. I hope this isn't the beginning of Nintendo going the way of sega.

I agree that we are in (or about to enter) a new era of gaming. And I think that as far as the three consoles in the long run, the PS3 will do the best job at really embracing that. But I don't agree that nintendo is grasping at straws, they are simply focusing on different and technology points, or rather they have differing opinions on what it is to be "next gen". In my opinion Nintendo is showing everyone (not just the serious gamer) a better job of what new things gaming technology can allow us to do (Other than making things look better/more realistic).

That's not to say I'm not excited about the PS3. I think in the long run it is going to be the top seller because of some of the things you have listed (diversity of games being first and formost). But I don't think you should sell the Wii so short (heh...yeah :D ).

All I know is that i'm starting to save up money to buy the PS3.... I cant wait... *drool* Every Playstation system has come with something innovative. PS1 with it's demo disks (I remember for the first couple of months of owning the Playstation all I owned was the demo disk hahaha)...PS2 with dvd capability and PS1 replayability and now PS3 with blu-ray and complete replayability. Even though $600 dollars is crazy... i'm still fronting the money!

The fact of the matter is, Sony's not even out of the gate yet. If you remember correctly the PS2's launch titles weren't all that spectacular or numerous. Sony does rely heavily on third party developers to drive the system, and there's nothing wrong with that. Once the ball gets rolling and the beast is unleashed so to speak...we will know more. Plus as I said the price will go down...it always does.

Perhaps I was a little to harsh on Nintendo. It's just that well in my eyes the gamecube was a big dissapointment. This new thing is a interesting idea, but that doesn't mean it will work. I just hope they know what they are getting into, alot of oldschool gamers might not like it. I think they are taking a huge risk with this new device. The whole console is going to rely on it. On the flipside I do like what I see from this RED STEEL title from Ubisoft

Now the Xbox, has a long ways to go with the japanese market. They are still newcomers, and many japanese gamers won't stray from Sony and Nintendo.

Yeah I'm a loyal Sony fan, but there is more than just bias to my opinion.

and It's not like I won't own them all anyways.:D
