Bah!!! I bet you all play evils from your PK music. No wonder I see no good aligned.

Listen to this and go roll some Paladins, Elven Blademasters and Cleric.s

Perhaps even some saders.

Mya,

I like it.

Now if you could just pick out some frequent points of softer/faster/more upbeat music I can switch through depending on what my char is doing, that would be fantastic....

Valek, that's Lovecraftian.

I'm amazed you can summon some degree of sanity.

It gets crazier.  Take that and put it into conversation with Shelley's Frankenstein.  Think about how the creature goes from being called a creature to referring to itself as a monster.  How this "monster" is more suited to the climates in Germany when he spies on the De Lacy's (my third reading of this book by the way).  He has all the making of wanting to be human, but he is more in touch with nature as it exists than humans, even draws solace from it when humans reject him.  The humans, on the other hand, take joy in their social interactions, their objects they create, and their attempts to subjugate nature.

The article in the link at one point meanders into postmodernism and nature.  Now, as postmodernism goes, ecocritics believe that postmodernists all have this idea that people separate themselves from nature by language.  That language is how we interact with everything and so we've constructed nature and it doesn't really exist (I don't believe this...throw a rock at my head and I promise I'll duck), therefore humans have created a barrier that we can't surmount to deal with nature.  I agree more with ecocritics, that we're part of nature, we're animals, but our evolution has made us one of the most dangerous animals, even to ourselves, because our reliance on social constructs and interactions has moved us from Darwinism to a place where we're going to overpopulate the planet.  We can't continue sustaining ourselves...but that's all not here.

The question I'm ponder in my mind for Tuesday is what does Shelley's narrative REALLY say about the creature and humans and does Harroway's Cyborg condemn humans and the creature or does it endorse the monster?  I want to say it endorses the monster, but I'm fairly certain Harroway falls on the side of postmodernists who have decided humans construct nature and therefore we create it, making ourselves separate by virtue of always harvesting and attempting to maintain it in the image we want.  Which, while having some merits, isn't true.  Just because you're not there to hear a tree fall doesn't mean it won't make a sound, it just doesn't register that way to other things...we have machines that can monitor the truth of the vibrations.  We are just constantly labeling and cornering things....

Okay...I have to go do some more thinking...just a glimpse of how insane I feel some days...

The dichotomy pushed is false. Music to PK by is still a terrible way to phrase it. Music to Mud to...that would be better. ;)

And check your inbox.

Bad phrasing? I disagree completely. Its called scored mudding. Meaning I have different types of music I listen to dependent o the activities my chars are performing. Makes perfect sense, if it changes, I change the song if appropriate.

How is that poorly phrased OR. A bad idea. Music helps establish amd flesh out mood, feeling, etc.

Edit: read the inbox. I see better what you mean, combined with your posts here. What I said above still applies. Ill provide a response message tomorrow. Would take too long on the phone. :-p
