f0xx
I watched the first part some time ago. Then I watched the second one, a week ago. Am I the only one who is completely disappointed? I like this genre, why do I dislike those movies then? It's like watching Thor's dark elves drive space ships. Feels so awkward [edit] This trailer here completely sums up my feelings. Dead Voodoo Doll
I've been very disappointed in them as well, but I'll definitely watch the third one. They just mess around with it too much and they add way too much "silliness" to the movies. The fight scenes drag on and on and they add too much to them that wasn't in the book. The Professor
they should have condensed them into ONE, that's why the movies seem to lack substance.. they certainly opted for quantity over quality, I'm sure that can be contributed to the almighty dollar. Pali
At most the book should have been translated into two movies, but I also think one should have sufficed (especially if 3+ hours is the expected run-time). I think Jackson's trying less to make "The Hobbit" into a movie than he is attempting to create a cohesive "War of the Ring" series of movies, and I think that's a mistake. The Lord of the Rings trilogy did a fine job of covering the war of the ring - he should've just stuck to making "The Hobbit", rather than making "The Hobbit and how it all fits in to Lord of the Rings". But, hey, if it makes money... it'll get done.

Imoutgoodbye
Quite a bit made-up. I haven't minded, though.
