Out of 19 character 7 of them are rangers. That is more than 1/3.

And we got them all, Ogre, Half, Human, Gnome :D and Elf.

So did they do anything new to the ranger class to atract so many people ?

Or everyone just found out that Rangers > Warrior

Warrior pugil = 7 attacks

Ranger pugil = 5 attacks

Warriors also get double grip which is a good bonus.

Okay, 2 possible attacks, more than likely just one because fourth is usually around 75-85%. 2 pets each with 3 rounds, plus trip, plus rescue, plus poison. Oh and he can shoot, depending on his lore, any number of afflicted arrows. Yepp, ranger powns.

This is just a stage that the game goes through. Since I have played mud all these years, I have noticed that if a person does very well with one thing, many other people will try that. Such as now we have an ogre ranger doing some damage at level 50. So naturally people will flock to make rangers. Soon something else will be in and rangers will be out. Happens every time. Not long ago people were complaining about all the clerics.

a smart warrior will own a Ranger in almost all cases. Like Chayesh said, weapon lore, weapon masteries. You get fired weapons too for the extra attack. Fly and have some svs to prevent poison/trip. Pets have low hp, you can usually 2/3 round them. take them out to make it 1 on 1 vs you and ranger. you have the upper hand.

Yeah but the overall point being that they both have their strong points and weak points, it's all about how a player takes advantage of the situation.

Rangers=Warriors...yep balanced, like an equation.

Oh but more on topic, I've seen the trend before....it passes, but more often than not clerics and rangers make up a good amount of the characters being played.
