mya
Out of 19 character 7 of them are rangers. That is more than 1/3. And we got them all, Ogre, Half, Human, Gnome and Elf. So did they do anything new to the ranger class to atract so many people ? Or everyone just found out that Rangers > Warrior

Lexi
Well... in your first post you said fired weapons, not herb and pets. That's quite a differance, actually.
Dobson
Yes, it make a large impact to fired weapons use.
tassinvegeta
I wish my warrior had stuff like that so I wouldn't have to rely on eq so much.
MeleeCrazy
But then Warriors have Fourth attack, and riposte, and counter, and ways to lag whenever they want. I could go on but I feel no need. Oh yeah Bards get it too.

Okay, 2 possible attacks, more than likely just one because fourth is usually around 75-85%. 2 pets each with 3 rounds, plus trip, plus rescue, plus poison. Oh and he can shoot, depending on his lore, any number of afflicted arrows. Yepp, ranger powns.
Chayesh
Warrior lores, weapon masteries, all weapon availability, more race options...yep warriors rock.

Zavero
This is just a stage that the game goes through. Since I have played mud all these years, I have noticed that if a person does very well with one thing, many other people will try that. Such as now we have an ogre ranger doing some damage at level 50. So naturally people will flock to make rangers. Soon something else will be in and rangers will be out. Happens every time. Not long ago people were complaining about all the clerics.
Deravgner
a smart warrior will own a Ranger in almost all cases. Like Chayesh said, weapon lore, weapon masteries. You get fired weapons too for the extra attack. Fly and have some svs to prevent poison/trip. Pets have low hp, you can usually 2/3 round them. take them out to make it 1 on 1 vs you and ranger. you have the upper hand.

Deravgner
there are 3 polearms way better than the fire lance too.
Chayesh
I was going to say noremove polearm FTW...even if your masteries are other weapons. Raar convinced me on that one.
Iyorvin
I loved watching warriors gain masteries and lores, so many warriors gave up their best advantage - always using weapons the other person doesn't know. I'd rather be a decked cabaled warrior for power, but a ranger for survivability.
MeleeCrazy
Yeah but the overall point being that they both have their strong points and weak points, it's all about how a player takes advantage of the situation. Rangers=Warriors...yep balanced, like an equation. Oh but more on topic, I've seen the trend before....it passes, but more often than not clerics and rangers make up a good amount of the characters being played. Zrothum
I just like fire lance because most rangers are either Ogre or Feral these days. So you hit the vuln of over half the rangers at 50 and it has the nice affect.
Questioner
So what ranger would you roll Zrothum? Just asking, not trying to be rude or anything.
