Dale
alias say emote says, " cool line - Make sure to add the quotations, and you can end the say with more quotation marks to include more actions emote stands up tall and says, "Eureka!" , as he grins. Emote exchanges a line and emote becomes your name. Smote does the same thing but you can include your name where ever you want. Pmote same as smote but when you incluse another persons name they will see you while everyone else sees their name. I may have smote and pmote confused. But an example Pmote As Dale looks upon muddmann the room grows silent. You see, As dale looks upon you the room grows silent.

The-Nameless
to make a mushclient say alias you do as follows alias say*output: emote whatever you want to say "%1" Example: Output: emote speaks in a gutteral, vosh accent "Arm yourself." you will type say arm yourself, and it will automatically do that
Magick
alias say emote says, " cool line - Make sure to add the quotations, and you can end the say with more quotation marks to include more actions emote stands up tall and says, "Eureka!" , as he grins. Try the aliases in game:alias say speaks with a lisp, spit flying everywhere, "$" What ever you type after say will be placed in with the dollar sign, and highlighted yellow by the game. But you MUST have the quotes around the dollar sign. No period needed if you type it in normally anyway. This will also avoid the !. you may have a some point. say I'm touching myself!Magick speaks with a lisp, spit flying everywhere, 'I'm touching myself!' Otherwise Dale is right. Though to add about smote, you can place your name anywhere and don't need to start as if your name is at the beginning.smote Turning to look at Valek trying to PK, Magick falls down laughing.shows:Turning to look at Valek trying to PK, Magick falls down laughing. And I'm 90% certain that Valek would see Valek in there, not 'you' like in a pmote. The way I remember between P/S/Emote is emote is vanilla, pmote stands for PERSON, smote is to add your name anywhere in the STRING. Too add to (and correct) Dale's pmote example:Pmote looks upon muddmann and the room grows silent.Everyone sees: Dale looks upon muddmann and the room grows silent. You see: Dale looks upon you the room grows silent. In the original example, you would have seen:Dale As Dale looks... You can also add quote in there. And/or in an aliasalias say smote Everyone turns and points at Magick who runs off crying, "$"When you then:say I hate you guys! You make fun of me!shows:Everyone turns and points at Magick who runs off crying, 'I hate you guys! You make fun of me!' And yes, Foxx's link is awesome, too. dewaholic
Remember you can also order pets to Emote, Pmote, Smote. Or use smotes to make it look like something else is talking to you (my favorite). Example: Smote A winged fire dragon turns to dewaholic and says "You idiot!"Returns: A winged fire dragon turns to dewaholic and says "You idiot!" Taking it a step further, remember that the name can be anywhere in the string, including in the quotes. Example: Smote A winged fire dragon says "Dewaholic, your an idiot!"Returns: Smote A winged fire dragon says "Dewaholic, your an idiot!" I use the dragon as an example because I have a character that has conversations with his when no one is around.

And I'm 90% certain that Valek would see Valek in there, not 'you' like in a pmote. And yes, Foxx's link is awesome, too.Speaking of Foxx's link, I reread it. It's well written. Smote works as an advanced pmote according to that. In other words, Valek would see 'you' in there instead of 'Valek'. Silly 10% minority. In any case, you have tons of options and potential RP tools.
Dale
I don't use pmotes or emotes. Smotes are where it's at.
f0xx
If you want a shortcut, just learn how to use smotes. They can do everything the other two can.
Grimulfr
If you want to have an emote or smote as your usual way of speaking, I find the most effective way is to set up an in game alias as follows: alias say smote A green stench escapes from Bob's mouth as he says, "$". Once you've done that, if you say something, it should come out as your intended smote. The $ sign should act as a variable, so anything you say will be contained in the smote. One thing to be aware of, if you speak using this smote, mobs or rooms that require you to "say" something to activate them (such as the arena or guild masters) won't recognise it. You will have to remove the smote and just say it normally, then you can put the smote back up for regular use.

It works the same way.
