P_body
i got a new laptop recently. Samsung ATIV Book 9 series. Decent laptop. Not liking Windows 8.1. All the same, I have a license of zMUD 7.21. I copied the folder from my old laptop and copied it into the Program Files folder. Then I re-installed zMUD to that folder. I just tried to save my buffer because I had an RP log I wanted to submit. The log saved, but I can't find it anywhere in the folder. When I go back to "save buffer" it brings up the destination location, and it shows a list of previous logs. Among them is the log I saved, but from that save window, when I right click on it and click "open" I receive a message that the file can't be found. I tried again with the same result. It saves, but even when i do a general search for the file name I saved it as, the search produces nothing. No idea what's going on or why. Ideas, thoughts? UPDATE: I changed the file location to "desktop". and the log saved. HOWEVER, now when I went back, tried to save the buffer and navigate back to C\program files\zmud, the save buffer window can't find my c drive anywhere....it just doesn't show up. I have the onedrive folder, and my user login folder, but no c drive...
Imoutgoodbye
Heard of people on campus complaining about something similar. The answer seems to be buying an external hard drive compatible with the 3.0 USB.
Dale
If you have your old hard drive there is a cord you can use to hook it up to your new laptop via usb. You can then access it's entire C:/drive

I know you have to get the right one that is compatible with your hard drive.
Cephirus
I believe the issue has to do with the fact that zMUD was never designed for use on Vista and later, so some of the directory and registry structure changes may be causing the issues you are having. f0xx
I have no issues with using it on win7. I think your problem is connected to the fact that you copied your old directory... let it create its own one, then copy the files you need to the new one.
