Othrynus Arcwing

Othrynus was an awesome mage build, stat-wise (had a base HP of almost 900), and when I wasn't caballed, I was able to take down quite a few cabal'd T's/E's and even Rathanous.  But when it came to his RP, I just couldn't find it when I came back from a 6 month break.

 

A lot of great fights:

 

Tkanzhar - quite a few good fights.

Rapacialant - same, but your sapling summoning was VERY annoying from both sides of the screen.

Raemus - early on we had a few good fights

Hebh - i hate that skill

Thulgan - Two or three times you had me at single-digit HP...i think i mastered cancellation, ice shield and fire shield fighting you.  You would often show up after I had taken a recent death and was still trying to recoup. 

To the neutral Syndi's / Watchers - if I wasn't an avatar, I would have fought.  Hope you understand.

 

My denial note sums it up pretty well:

 

Othrynus was initially created with the intent to play an avatar psi.
When I got to 50 and was told I couldn't have that combo, I decided to
roll with the avatar invoker even though it wasn't what I wanted to play.
He was also created prior to the RP point system being implemented, and
after coming back from a 5-6 month break, I just don't find myself as a
player able to get into him like I am capable of RP-wise.

It's def a strong PK combo when you're on top, but I found that I was being
docked RP points if I had recently died and was expected to fight without
a fully charged staff - or even basic mage armor.  But I also couldn't bring
myself to care enough about restoring the points.
 

 

Now that I've been back 6 weeks or so, I know what I want to play

That wasn't why I docked you RP points. We talked about why, I just hadn't put in the command until after you logged out.

Sad to see you go.  I liked Othrynus, you were a force to be reckoned with but I never really got to chat with you much.  Good luck on whatever it is that you want to play now

@Naruthiron - I'm a bit too clumsy for a good-aligned invoker I guess.  Some times I would accidentally type fs (firestorm) instead of fsh (fire shield) and kill a good mob.  Man, seemed like i was in perpetual damnation

YES, playing a good-align invoker can be a headache at times... ALWAYS have to be mindful of the mobs in the area... I can recall killing a few goodie npcs  while running blind before... just horrible! 

I only chatted with you once or twice, sad to see you go nonetheless. hopefully your next will prove more enjoyable to you.
