 Before the Knight Cabal

obvious, you see the aftermath of some calamity: the castle's famous wall
seems to have collapsed on top of the western part of the castle, carving in
the structures and buildings there.  Though the debris and rubble has been
cleared away, the damage is still very obvious.

Nearing a Battlefield
  As you step away from the chasm steps, you come upon a Castle, in the
distance, that has seen recent battle.  Bodies are strewn casually on the
bloody ground here.  The corpses of great Demons and armored Knights have
fallen in nearly equal quantities.  From this vantage point you can see the
remodeled walls of the Knight Castle, towering and defiant against the
ceasless assaults of their enemies.  Their gleaming expanse threatens to
blind any attacker, and casts them in stark contrast with the blackened
earth they traverse.

I wonder in what condition you were after the shooting, Ingel?

I spammed way too much, I need to figure out how fury exactly works, not having rapid fire in and partly fightig without pets was not good either.

Fury did good there. He lost concentration on quite a few spells. I'm also assuming that's what took him so long to recall, as he couldn't cast it at 100%.

 

I've had this issue with cabal guards as well. Even if I'm engaged with the cabal guard, and a player, I can't seem to switch over to focus my attack on the player and not the guard.

Needler stalks and effervescent potions.  They'll help loads in timing furies.  Hint hint.

 

Now I don't know his mastered spells, but he failed fireball three times and ice storm twice before you fled the first time.  Don't focus only on what lands as what doesn't when looking at skill effects.  It's also harder to tell with invokers, but watch lag times, too.  I'm not saying that fury affects both those things (it's fun to figure out things for yourself), but re-reading logs like this answers a lot of questions.

 

Could have been a whole different ballgame if those landed.

Advice for Ingel:  First, stock up on missile shield scrolls.  Second, make the ranger play your game not their's.

 

Don't sit there trying to cast when you've been furied.  Run around a bit, let it fall, set up a firestorm and try to dispel magic as soon as the ranger walks into the firstorm.  Chances are good they will try to fury you again and if they do, they just lagged themselves, dispelled, for two rounds whlie eating firestorm/fire shield damage.  If it works, the fight is now in your favor.

Ingel casted 12 times in the log. The first was before fury. Then he missed 7 spells and managed to cast 4.

7/(7+4) = 0.63 So his failing rate was of 63%, very close to failing twice for every time he succeeds to cast. Once can argue that his spells weren't mastered, but I doubt it. Specially fireball which is the most used spell, one that will master just by ranking in a 25 int race. But I have experienced similar miscast rates on my characters.

 

I would love to have a racial skill that could make meeles miss attacks 60% of the time. But I guess most of the PB would scream that it was OP...
