Master everything. Cleaves, defenses, weapons, haymaker, headbutt, bodyslam. All of it.

Learn EQ, and learn it well. You want a good balance of saves and hit/dam. Your biggest enemy is going to be evil clerics and shamans, so get maledictive and mental saves. Invokers, if you're smart, you should rip through fairly easily, so don't really focus on afflictive.

If this is your first berserker, stop caring about lives, because you're going to lose a lot of them. Don't get angry or quit out when you're killed. Go and re-equip, and get back in order. Battle with a berserker takes a lot of trial and error, which in turn, usually involves a lot of failure. So get used to it.

Definately master things. Battles as a Zerk are hard and fast and you really can't afford to be missing your critical skills there. As far as EQ I'd agree with D_D except if you're really decked out in hit/dam gear, you may sometimes be able to just go all-out damage, even against casters. Even moreso if your a magic res race. That only works effectively if you're truly decked out in tops hit/dam though, and against certain foes. ;)

Now realy, use a heavy polearm and bashlock non protective classes, mages you need to dual wield and hit vulnerability.

Although that should work theoritically, I can 100% guarantee that your battles will not go like that all the time.
