mya
Not the Mino, but perhaps he was trying to mercy you. I absolutely hate this RP that allows a neutral to kill unprovoked a Mage because he is a mage.I have had an Watcher applicant do this crap to me once. It makes no sense. We never see mages do this in reverse. Wanna go kill people for pleasure? Roll an evil...

P_body
Mya. I don't think slaughtering mages as a neitral will get anyone very far. Note volgs post about thin rp based on pk.

Trick
I've noticed it the other way, actually. I've seen/talked to many people that attempted to get OUT of fighting someone rather than.

mya
Did I ever tell you the story of how I killed a FG zerk at ~L20 with a shock whip as a Cleric after being attacked by him?Using sanctuary is a good practice for all ranks.
Ellwyn
Well I personally have a problem with this. I've had this happen THREE times from three DIFFERENT characters, all at about level 15-20 (which takes a lot of time to get to on a mage). Finally get to training spells on a sleeping creature or another secluded spot. Random melee character comes in equiped to the teeth... dirt, trip/bash, dead. Obiously a mage who doesnt have his offensive spells yet stands no chance (especially if half the battle was spell spam from training). The main thing that irks me is these people do this without any word. No rp, no reason I can figure out. They just come out of nowhere, kill you, and leave. Especially had a problem with the lightwalker who did it. Thought they were supposed to be "good". Do good people just go around murdering people they've never met or talked to? Is everyone a murderer nowadays? :/

I will happily tear the appendix out of anybody who does this - as P-body noted, we've addressed this with my RP abuses thread. That said, there are many circumstances where you may be in danger, and you have to be ready for it. People in their 30's looking for qraces and classes are required to have at least one kill. As such, it's a very dangerous range. People who know you belong to an opposing organization may wish to kill you to curry favor with their leaders. They could be under other specific orders. As mentioned, it's 'better to be safe than sorry' to employ a tired cliche.
mya
I have seen players train in the entrance to Everwild. Half the problems are solved if one trains in a far off place, or inside your guild.Dieing at that rank is also not a very big problem. More like a nuisance. Yes, we get pissed, but it's just a pride thing.
f0xx
I personally think people have gotten very soft. Learning to survive at low ranks is very important appetizer to the main meal that follows at pinnacle. You don't know the other character hence you don't know if he has no reason to attack you. It is healthier for you to ASSUME that he has a reason to attack you and that he WILL attack you. Nowadays most people assume they wont get attacked and when they do, they whine because they don't accept its their own fault for not expecting it. FL is a dangerous world. Not expecting to be attacked is breach of RP
Mmm Coffee
^^ Wholeheartedly agree. Being attacked pre-30 or pre-pinn is one of the funnest thing that can happen to you during those ranks. Typically, people are not decked or hoarding 3 backpacks full of consumables at those ranks so pre-pinn fights have a bit of old-school nostalgia for me. I'm probably in the minority, but I wish it was more encouraged
The Forsaken
There used to be two levels of competition. The 30 range and 50 range. But that's back when. There were 25 people online in the 'off hours'
Unknown Criminal
I absolutly miss the warzone that used to be 25-35, you either made it throug that with a dozen pks or deleted because of a couple deaths and tried again, lol. The Forsaken
That's back when if someone asked you to hunt you had to decide if it was a trap or not. And going around the npc that guarded emerald forest because he could wipe a low level group.

As mentioned, it's 'better to be safe than sorry' to employ a tired cliche. Ive always failed to understand why there is a limit on aggression for neutral based characters. I've always thought that neutrality basically means you don't care who you attack, you aren't fighting on the side of either good or bad but are equally open to attack or help any ethos/align. Are you telling me a chaotic neutral shouldn't be aggressive? With this mentality every Evil should be overtly aggressive to all paths. They should be FORCED to attack everyone they meet just as neutrals have to abstain. I have played some VERY aggressive neutrals in my time and I've never felt like what I've done has breached what neutrality means...
f0xx
I think it means that one should have a reason more than "I want his wears".
Unknown Criminal
The thing with neutrals is that they do more damage where they are the strogest of aligns, being a chaotic neutral doesnt mean your a cold blooded killer, it means that you WILL throw down anywhere and any time though if prevoked. By strongest of aligns what Im saying is there is no 'protection' aginst their damage so their spells and malee are full tilt. If you want to go on a mass killing spree with a neutral you have to get into a cabal and go guns blazing against your enemy cabal. UC
Implementor Volgathras Posted January 26, 2015 Implementor Report Share Posted January 26, 2015 This has been covered before. Killing people just because is the act of an evil. Neutrals are required to have RP backing behind their actions. That does not mean 'not aggressive', which is an illogical progression of the mandate. A chaotic neutral who clearly RPs that he is going after the stronger faction backs up his aggression with the requisite RP. A neutral who murders people for their EQ and responds "I kill everyone equally" is evil. He just likes to kill.I suppose a loose example could be the difference between the Joker (chaotic evil, who messes with everyone to sow chaos without concern for the damage caused) and the Comedian (chaotic neutral, who messes with people to make a point or buck the system). It's a difficult line, hence the continued debate.
