Calm might of helped with the beasts??

 

Why not go more offensive? Surely he has enough saves that minister might actually hit him like what, one round? Although it would drain mana.

 

Stand next to something so he wont call void? There are plenty of nasty mobs in Maelb to make him consider not doing it.  (should call void be doing more damage then a clerics path? #awks)

Cast nothing but curse until it lands, run and heal in between.

 

Once cursed, calm the charmie, run and heal.

 

Minister him, run and pretend he has the advantage because he is a very aggressive attacker.

 

Wither him down with fire shield, land a dispel magic then start pathing.

 

Old school strat that worked for me :)

Are you aware of the changes to Minister these days? 

 

Also curse is a minor annoyance when you're out damaging the person anyway - even if the demon could be cursed.

Errr..did I miss some anti-caster ability that this dk may or may not have used? Cure your poison...keep your moves up...get out of the town or run circles...change directions at intersections often...perhaps start out with spell-turning to mess him up....you can even just path the crab to try to get it plagued...don't use holy hands against high-output characters...recall. You can summon the crab somewhere to get it isolated/plagued.
 
Although the real problem is that this DK is moving about twice as fast as you...you either need to change directions or spam movement a bit more...a chaser shouldn't be able to reengage that many times that quickly.
 
By the way, that is the first time I've seen Maelbrim!

Use Holy hands, as I explained to you in the past. But perhaps summon the Crab out of the equations.

Better yet, curse the crab, and then calm it. More mana efficient, since he's L42. Isolate on other hand takes or tooks into account the master mental saves, so don't bother.

 

You died because you didn't have a horse, weren't flying, and didn't bother to cure poison. So you got your moves atrictioned in a class that has refresh.

 

This is a hard fight. Demons have (or had) a very powerful anti-communer ability. I suspect he didn't use it because he didn't want you running to soon.

 

Listen on Celerity on the Call Void. DK's are fought near a strong mob. Like a bank, a trainer or the kesrick guards. Or other special tricks.

 

 

If it was me on your FG. I would conserve mana like crazy. Tkanzar has like -50-60 mental saves. His combo is extremely powerful, so powerful that he favours mostly direct strategies. Such as F0xx, magic missile spam. Or paralysis bashes. So he could possibly be lured into a trap.

I would slowly attrition him with the fire shield, while keeping my mana high. Probably stock up on the right saves. Once his mana was down and his hp eroded, after a long drawn out combat, I would hammer him with a solar mace and path spam. Most likely after a dispel that took his unholy strenght and bless spell saving bonus.

 

Also, if you don't know what you are doing, don't fight feared. Run and wait it out. It's like dirt.

Yeah, I agree with above. 

 

I would also consider being slowed. He's hitting you like a beast anyway so who cares. At least that ups your attrition value if you can catch good sleeping ticks - keeping that mana high while you wear him down to the point where it starts getting high risk. 

 

Keep forcing him to engage you. Eventually he's going to make a mistake and attack someone else with his voids... That literally gives you the opportunity to run past a barrier thats going to start irritating him. 

 

Move behind a door. If its not working get those charmies away from him and make them a pain to recover - he doesnt want to chase you in there without them? Fine, just hang out and sleep/heal/refresh.

 

Basically try and lengthen the game - a lot of his spells he relies on are duration, Charm person and infernal agony (is that still a thing?)

 

Whatever he has in terms of sanction/consumables are limited - you're a cleric, its all unlimited. 

 

 

Maelbrim Specific - use the outer wall. That thing makes chasing a pain. Even if you head out and south 1 room, wait for him to run past then back into the city. If he isn't whereing all the time or right on your ass he's going to loose you.
