I love the shooting through doors as much as spamming flee while still in battle with his pets where he is spamming shoot from the other room. (sarcasm, I really think its dumb) Yeah yeah, I need a scroll of missile immunity while he doesnt even need sanctuary

Some might say I should have fled and came back but why?  I had a fully charged staff AND sphere of annihilation

and he was 'unsanced' so I couldnt get any stronger,  it would have been the same fight all over again only worse

if he sanced up, I actually would have fled after the second spell if he was sanced.

 

Out of everything hellstream could have taken out it was a bowl of herbs and a throwing axe, sure am glad I

mastered that spell, lol.

 

Oh well.

The shooting through doors: It's due to the properties on the bow.  Have you wondered why every class that can fire weapons has one?  Fortunately, that's the only ranged weapon (I'm aware of) that has it.

 

The rest was just bad timing.

You didn't have commands stacked throughout until you were looking to flee; a good thing.  You weren't in battle with his pets; Ekhurift fled while you were lagged from casting and his pets scattered when he did so which is why you got the return "You aren't fighting anyone."  The very, very bad timing was that while your flee spam was going through, he returned and nailed you that one last time.  If you had kept to the initial two, things might have turned out differently. Maybe.  We'll never know.

I've never tried teleporting while in battle, but I know you can recall while fighting.  The lag is evil, but you would have survived the fight. 

 

 

As for the rest of the fight, I'll leave that to others.

I love the shooting through doors as much as spamming flee while still in battle with his pets where he is spamming shoot from the other room. (sarcasm, I really think its dumb) Yeah yeah, I need a scroll of missile immunity while he doesnt even need sanctuary

Some might say I should have fled and came back but why?  I had a fully charged staff AND sphere of annihilation

and he was 'unsanced' so I couldnt get any stronger,  it would have been the same fight all over again only worse

if he sanced up, I actually would have fled after the second spell if he was sanced.

 

Out of everything hellstream could have taken out it was a bowl of herbs and a throwing axe, sure am glad I

mastered that spell, lol.

 

Oh well.

Taking the numbers from this site, we have roughly:

 

Total: 502 (beast + bow damage, of which 313 was bow damage)

Total: 294 (Ekhurift's own physical damage)

Total: 154 (Ehurifts's magical damage after the axe was destroyed)

 

You could have cut red by 90% easily by using a missile scroll and killing his unsanced beasts in 2 rounds with fireball.

 

You could have cut green by at least 10% by using stone skin and flesh armor.

 

You could have cut yellow by 100% by putting up mana shield after you saw him draw the domifernis.

 

1/3 of your hp was taken out by his bow ALONE. He is tracker. There is NO excuse for not using the scroll of missile protection.

 

There is NO excuse for not killing unsanced beasts.

 

You could have killed him with spending less than 50% of your HP, if the battle played out the same way.

 

Also, all of his EQ is probably burnproof, and that axe you broke is most likely heavily enchanted, so your complaints about not breaking anything useful have no ground.

Partial correction from my previous post:
Maybe he didn't return after all and shot you while you were in your spam-flee state.  Either way, there's little difference between the shoot and return/re-engage.

 

 

In regards to Foxx's post, he's right.  With a niggle.

 

Yes, we're back to the "missile scroll against fired weapons" argument.  The point remains, though and I cannot refute his assessment of the damage in red.

 

Green, meh.  While every little helps, 10% doesn't matter too much in that fight and other "glass cannon" type engagements.  Just my opinion.  Roughly 29hp in this case, but if you had them up, you probably wouldn't have died to that last arrow though you'd be close to single digits.  More because of the beast damage.

While your gear is enchanted to the nines and if another -80 AC would give you 10% reduction, the point he's making is "less damage = less damage."

 

The niggle comes from Foxx's assessment in yellow.  You were lagged from the hellstream, so that 140-150 damage would be unavoidable.  If the fight would have progressed from there, the switch to mana shield then would have removed further damage from the staff, yes.

'DARK SHROUD'Syntax: commune 'dark shroud' Enshrouding oneself by the shadows of the phantoms, the communer canhide the aura from the spells that affect him.  The only affect visible on the communer will be the shroud itself.  This does notremove the affects of other spells, it merely disguises them.
Come one, Ekhurift is a very experienced player. Do you think he would go unsanctioned against a invoker? I only trust non-sanct when I dispel it and they haven't yet had time to flee (to resanct out my eyes).
